Just can’t see our black players backing Caleb up or their Black players pulling their player off Caleb.

Re: So AL discussion
I didn’t see any of the game and only seem to understand that interaction based on what you guys have said. Sounds like the SA player was losing his mind. I’m in no way condoning any poor language used by anyone and I’ve never played football but for crying out loud it gets “chippy” as some announcers like to say and I’m sure words get exchanged all the damn time. So the guy got into it with Spurlin, got ejected and not only told his mommy but also to the other coaches. If he was the instigator is it beyond the realm of possibility that his story might have been somewhat fabricated? I have always believed in this expression- there is your story, my story and the truth. Unbelievable that this is still going on.

Re: So AL discussion
I’m not saying NOTHING happened, but I have a really hard time believing that THIS happened. I’m just gonna wait and trust that Clark handles it. I see no reason to speculate any further until the conference (as AppSt94 alluded to) and App speak on it.
Give 'em hell!
Re: So AL discussion
Looking back at the replay of the game it appears Spurlin was getting under this kids skin about 10:15 left in the half. He had to leave after that play for lossing his helmet and when he came back in Spurlin was jawing some more. Up until that point I didn't see much. So the play that ejected them both wasn't the first time his team mates had to pull him away. Take that for what it is.

It’s also possible that there is a history here. He played for North Texas last year, so could have been some stuff that started last year.Yosef77 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 15, 2021 2:19 pmLooking back at the replay of the game it appears Spurlin was getting under this kids skin about 10:15 left in the half. Anterrious Gray's nikename is "Angry Bird". Doesn't sound like someone that knows how to control himself.

Some of you are going to be really pissed to find out what happens after a fumble in a 10 man pile up.

Re: So AL discussion
racially charged language is intentionally broad. seeing how Wommack is handling this, my guess is if the N-word was used (or something similarly offensive), he wouldn't have used ambiguous language.Rekdiver wrote: ↑Mon Nov 15, 2021 1:49 pmAs you folks know Im a LIb but what is "racially charged" language? using the word "ghetto" can (and is) be racially charged language. I don't think it should be something that gets a player pilloried, but I'm sure some do.

I wondered when I saw the name if he is just known as an angry person or it was a nod to the popular game people play on their phones called "Angry Birds".TractorApp wrote: ↑Mon Nov 15, 2021 2:26 pmAnterrious Gray's nikename is "Angry Bird". My guess is it’s a play on his name and his position, as a result of enjoying that game. Seems tongue-in-cheek to me.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 15, 2021 2:41 pmI wondered when I saw the name if he is just known as an angry person or it was a nod to the popular game people play on their phones called "Angry Birds".TractorApp wrote: ↑Mon Nov 15, 2021 2:26 pmAnterrious Gray's nikename is "Angry Bird". Remember, according to one poster, we can’t post any info from any sources about players that are not absolutely verified alternative facts….that there is spreading rumors.

Meech and Jalen McLeod were right there. Cannot fathom either of these players would tolerate "racially charged language" by Caleb at anyone.Rekdiver wrote: ↑Mon Nov 15, 2021 1:49 pmAs you folks know Im a LIb but what is "racially charged" language? If you’re comparing a racial slur (if it happened) to a nut grab, there’s no helping you.

I was at the game with Arkansas St last week. You can hear a lot of stuff when there is no crowd. Clark is a better man than I am because I would have given Cooper Hodges the green light to plant #11 into the turf.

Re: So AL discussion
In the article, Wommack said during his Monday press conference that Spurlin "used racially charged language in Gray’s direction in addition to spitting in his face. Wommack said Spurlin also used a racial epithet in Gray’s vicinity during or after an earlier play."
"“... We had a number of players who confirmed that it was a situation where he did spit in Anterrious’ face. And that was also confirmed by one of their officials, not exactly sure which one.”
Also, the article says we should hear about potential punishments this afternoon.

Re: So AL discussion
He did not….went back out on the filed….was escorted off by an official…..both Clark and Spurlin talked with that official and then Sputlin went into the locker room.

The USA beat reporter also said that the USA coaches noticed Spurlin going back in and pointed it out to the refs.
