Re: Newbie
WVAPPFan .. Thanks for your response .. Ga State was indeed App's opponent in 2014 for the first( of only two games ) I have attended in Boone .. It snowed 6 inches that day. Sorry to have been confused ..not sure why you would think I would lie about it but I am sure you have never made a mistake ..
I am sure that is not all you would find odd about me if you are from West Virginia as I live near the coast in North Carolina..
Believe whatever you want ...
I must say I did enjoy dating that gal from St. Albans WV a few years ago..
GO MOUNTAINEERS !!!

Re: Newbie
Give the guy a break. I've only been to 10 years (working on 11 now) of App games and am a big App fan. I'm a 0:00 fan regardless of the weather ... at least so far.WVAppsfan wrote:He did not know it was Wyoming, odd to me. Big difference between Georgia somebody and Wyoming.
Still, the games sometimes run together ... against whom? what year? which player? ... and I've got what most would consider a very strong memory. For example, I remember the Nintendo Meet Harry Houdini play that AE had against Samford in the pouring rain, but I don't remember which year that was. I remember Georgia State coming out in short sleeves in the snow and getting clobbered in, I'm pretty sure, 2014. I remember 2013 very well as I saw every play of every game in a farewell tour of the SoCon (that wasn't an easy year to be an App fan).
I do not attend App football to be a statistician; I get plenty of numbers at work. I attend App football games to support App student-athletes, to be with my adopted family, to enjoy a sport I love, to be in one of the most beautiful places on earth. Perhaps, our new visitor is the same.

Thank you all for the great recommendations. I look forward to the weekend, and yes we are taking this game very seriously. I understand there is a blackout at the game - I think there will be a decent splash of hurricane orange, white and green.
Good luck and game on!

For most of us, every Saturday is Black Saturday. The whiteout last week was a stretch for several of us.U of my Emme wrote:Thank you all for the great recommendations. After the game, my crew will be heading over to Café Portofino as we usually do. They have a good variety of food and assuming things are a zoo afterwards, it is within walking distance of the stadium.

Thanks. That was two years ago then? Wow! Senility is creeping in a little faster than I'd like to see.ASU3432Mi wrote:ATL. That was the Campbell U. game in 2014 when the storm stopped the game.
