How did the town/county get the land for the new high school?

Throw in the current soccer complex, too.

We give them the Lowes building and lot, on top of the soccer complex out there, in return for the old Watauga High property. Sounds fair to me.

How big would this be for App if this finally came to be?

How bout the land that had the old plant off Greenway Rd? It's flat and big enough for something.

It is flat now with the building gone.

Off topic but what industry is left in Boone? Vermont America shut down quarter century ago. Shadowline closed mid-1990s it seems? IRC is gone to the point of the building being torn down.

It would great to work a land swap for this site. We should have done it when they wanted the land for the new high school.

Looking at the land on Google maps, the Lowes building lot is smaller even than the IRC lot and much moreso than the old high school. A straight swap probably isn't happening unless the town is that desperate. The IRC lot is big enough for a track facility and parking.

they can find a creative way to make it work if both sides are serious, if a straight swap doesn't work for the town, we could throw in some cash to sweeten the deal.

Is this town or county? I was thinking Watauga County.

That counts. I think that is out on Bamboo. I wonder how many work there.
