Patrick K. Griffin ’11, ’13 of Greensboro, NC, has been named a recipient of the 2013 Elijah Watt Sells Award by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA).
The award is bestowed upon candidates who have obtained a cumulative average score above 95.50 across all four sections of the Uniform CPA Examination, completed testing during the 2013 calendar year and passed all four sections of the Examination on their first attempt. More than 94,154 individuals sat for the Examination in 2013, with 55 candidates meeting the criteria to receive the Elijah Watt Sells Award.
An unbelievable accomplishment. Not only did he pass all four part of the CPA exam on the first try, he aced all four parts! Way to go!!

I saw that, too. Quite an awesome accomplishment. Passing all four parts of that exam in one throw is amazing enough (speaks the voice of experience
). Being in the top 0.06% of exam candidates in the country is another feat entirely! Congratulations, Patrick. Welcome to the hallowed halls of the CPA world.

It's good to see that APP still has one of the top accounting departments in the country!

It was interesting to hear that Patrick earned his BS in Political Science and minored in accounting, then went on and earned his Masters in Accounting. He should have a very strong skill set that will serve him well.

I appreciate the notice WV, but alas I am only a first sitting passer not an award winner. Now the guy I studied with did receive the third highest score our year!
Congrats to Patrick, good guy, despite the stereotype, he is very socialable as well. He can go as far as he wants in our profession, congrats Patrick, thanks for representing App so well!

Well how about this for a record - I waited until my senior year to take freshman math - I could not wait any longer and still graduate AND I happily took the D I had earned ---Saint3333 wrote:I appreciate the notice WV, but alas I am only a first sitting passer not an award winner.
