We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Board Engagement
Mods, do you have metrics like daily active users or post count by month? I have a feeling that the back half of this season is going to lag prior months and prior years. The level of apathy is glaring on here.

Re: Board Engagement
I've had this same thought recently. It seems pretty dead on here given the time of year. I imagine many moved on for the season or quit looking because it's just a bunch of negativity.

Re: Board Engagement
I don’t even know that it’s apathy per se. There’s just less substance when you’re out of contention. We’re usually worried about rival matchups and how they impact us, bowl speculation, are we getting poll votes, our own games obvious carry a greater weight, etc. There’s just more happening.
Instead we’ve got an head coach candidate thread and the dim hope we win two straight to salvage something from this lost season. And it’s a bye week.

Re: Board Engagement
I know typically when I check the users active thing at the bottom it's usually in the 125-250 range midweek. It's currently 54. But also to ah59396's point above, there's really not much to talk about. I still come here multiple times a day but I don't really have much to add to the conversation other than my general disdain for the position we're in.

Re: Board Engagement
I feel like it has been slow on here for most, if not all, of the football season. May just be my perception but it seems like there are only a handful of topics about each game and not much else. It certainly doesn't seem nearly as active as years past.

Re: Board Engagement
This makes me look bad, but I miss the old Delphi format where Poster A directs a comment to Poster B. I get a headache reading through the
mountains of copied comments to get to the bottom of a post for 1 line. Oh, and another thing, you kids get off my lawn!

Re: Board Engagement
The 247 board is even worse. There were only a couple of pages for the CCU game. But that board is heavily moderated on certain topics, which is one of the reasons I’m canceling my subscription

Supporters still read but just don't post due to R own (all) feeling we could be doing better on football field; but don't wish to be in the keyboard fights of whom loves our University most. I'm speaking from my feelings.......

Re: Board Engagement
It gets tiring whenever a post is made and it turns into a bitchfest to which the post just gets away from the topic.
I’ve always been more of a reader than a poster, but there are times I don’t even like to come to this board because it turns into “I’m right you’re wrong” without good discussion.
The fact we aren’t good this year isn’t helping either.

Re: Board Engagement
What everyone's describing is what you see on ECU boards. Significant decrease in the number of threads/posters each day.
What you don't see there are threads created to announce former TV stars or one-hit-wonder musicians dying.

I don’t have access to those stats ‘89 probably does. But yes I’m sure it is going down and will continue to unless basketball starts to look much better.

Re: Board Engagement
Add to that the current NIL/Portal situation. Can we get excited about any of the younger players on our roster? Not really, because who knows if they will stick around regardless of the coaching situation. When I walked out of the Superdome on December 15th, 2018 I knew that we had a very talented team coming back and regardless of who was hired to be the new coach, 2019 was going to be a big year. I don't know that I'll ever have that feeling again. So, what's our discussion points for next year beyond Clark's status?ah59396 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 13, 2024 3:05 pmI don’t even know that it’s apathy per se. Kerns signed three players today on National Signing Day, but until they show up on practice, there's no excitement and are they going to stay for 1 year, 2 years, 3+? Basketball should have huge momentum coming into 24/25, but with the max exodus we have a team: but it's really just our coach, two of our players and a group of young men that we'll grow to like once we learn who they are.

Re: Board Engagement
Grow to like and get to watch....at least for a season. I saw an interview with Deon Sanders and he said that Colorado didn't recruit players to develop. He said if we recruit you out of high school we expect you to come play immediately. He said with nil and the portal you have to recruit people to play now. He isn't wrong.WASU 93 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 13, 2024 11:26 pmAdd to that the current NIL/Portal situation. Can we get excited about any of the younger players on our roster? Re: Board Engagement
Times and circumstances have changed, thanks to NIL/TP. I don't get ramped up about prospects anymore. Until they're enrolled in school and at practice, they aren't part of the program.ASUTodd wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2024 3:57 amGrow to like and get to watch....at least for a season.
