Second alert says "suspects are in custody"

Daughter was moved to basement of the education building while all this was going on. She texted us while it was going on

Arrested a 20 year old App student for the assault. Unnamed App student injured. Another student possibly involved but not charged so far.

They just sent this out to my student email.

They said near business building, so guess it could have been on the backside near downtown.

Maybe if we enact knife control laws this will eliminate all these stabbings across the country. Only plastic knives in US. Oh, plastic is bad for environment so that doesn't work.

But seriously I hope the injured is not serious. We don't know the whole story yet so who knows what really happened.

Choking about this really? Have a kid on the college campus yourself like me and see how funny it is.

Just to clarify, I am not making light of the serious nature of this incident. Because it really doesn't matter whether someone lives on or off campus, or anywhere else for that matter, it is a problem that folks cannot feel safe or are safe in their everyday environments. I understand if you have kids in an area where such an incident occurs, App or other incidents, your emotions will be higher, as would be expected. I can sympathize. But I will reserve the right to comment on how this is related to our overall society if a similar topic comes up, which is where my comment was made.

We locked the doors of our apartment three times a year in Boone during my time, Thanksgiving, Christmas, spring break.

The lack of common decency today is troubling and are making me sound like my grandfather.

The area cautioned off was the bench by the back entrance of Peacock. So technically right on the edge of campus as the street 10 feet away isn't campus.

Schools and parents aren't teaching respect.

And of course, lower church attendance = less respect for life
