A few takeaways:

We're $28M behind the 1st Sunbelt school, ODU, and we're about 72% of their total. Our enrollment is about 80% of theirs currently, but theirs is declining and ours is increasing. If I had to guess, it'd probably equal out to about the same per alumni.

Coastal has $21M and they seem to do fine.

ECU donors have some big pockets.

Brody School of Pirate Voodoo. Goes to show the importance of certain degree offerings. Sure we've had our successes out of our business school and some out in the science world etc. But churning out whole graduation cohorts going out to make six figures makes a world of difference.

A little surprised at ECU too. Also did not expect Charlotte to be that high.

Doctors earn more than teachers.

I would be curious of how many of their doctors donate. Most med students are not undergraduate ECU alumni and usually will support their own undergraduate school. I know I went there for grad school and have never donated to ECU athletics. They are well known for their teaching school as well.

Most of those schools really don't get their monies worth....7 of the top 10 teams haven't won a football national title in the last 10 years (FSU barely squeaked in there) and many haven't even sniffed it at all (A&M, Texas, Ok St). Iowa has raised more than Clemson and they could hardly even score an offensive touchdown last season. Surprised to see how little the Big10 brings in comparatively, especially considering they have the largest tv contract. Still not sure how the tv exec gave that much, and I bet they regret it, but they did.
