I could have gotten by without the 20 something emails. 3 or 4 would have been plenty.

You're not wrong. Of course, now they will go back into hibernation and not reach out to anyone for 12 months.

Had a daughter at State (since graduated). It was the same there as well. Crazy push for "day of "giving"...then nothing or close to nothing the rest of the year.

All fair and astute observation regarding communication. Could it be a question that can be answered by human nature? Are we as humans more apt to give money to something that has an associated plan or cause associated with the ask? If App used a phone bank and called every alumni, asking for money would they get the same results?

Given how off putting the statements like “donate more” or “we need more money” are to some on here, it seems that plans and events are the most consistent forms of fundraising. Conversely, being constantly bombarded with emails asking for donations for the funding of projects can be equally off putting.

They do. I get several calls per year from students working a phone bank.

Yup. Which is why Yosef Club can't do calls. They have to be done by the Appalachian Foundation -- which employs students to do the calls.

Interesting. I don’t get calls but every so often. Maybe once a year. But do they generate the same kind of money as they get from the IbackApp program?

I do as well, but I ask them how much they can send me. ;) ;) ;)
