Yes, Brian was my “Voice of the Mountaineers.” Way to go fellow Mountaineer.

Some years ago I asked him just that question to no satisfactory response.

Trying to recall what years Brian Estridge announced Mountaineer games. Was he just prior to David Jackson?

I think Estridge left in the mid to late 90s and I think DJ took over around 2001.

Mike Waddell was in between the two, but I’m not sure if the dates.

Yeah, I was just about to chime in to say that Brian has been calling football and basketball at TCU since '98. IIRC, Eric Hyman hired Brian away from App after the '97 season to call both sports for the Miami (Ohio) RedHawks. That arrangement lasted just one season, as Hyman accepted the AD position at TCU and took Brian with him. And that, as they say is history.
BE has been in Ft. Worth about 24 years, so he's had plenty of time to lobby for that Mountaineer-Horned Frog coontest. Methinks we'll need to wait just a bit longer!

Your are correct. He was the Voice of the Mountaineers from 1997 to 2000. He went to West Point after App.

I seem to remember SID Rick Covington also went to TCU sometime during the late 80s or early 90s.
