Obviously the season is just getting started but only 3 teams in this conference are in the top half of basketball is not good. I want to track this through the season and see where we all finish. I think App has a chance to move up to top 100. That should absolutely be a goal of Dusty’s. Top 100 in the country and top 3 in the conference in the regular season.

Sunbelt went from 6 to 8 in the top 200!

I could see App winning the next 3 in a row against weaker competition and actually falling in the KenPom. Remember, these are power ratings, not rankings. If we blow them out then we stand a chance to slide up some more, but if we meddle around and win by 5-10 in these games we could actually fall.

I haven't paid any attention to Campbell this year, but they typically have a good team. Not sure they should be considered weaker competition.

definitely weaker competition this year. The Chris Clemons days are over in Buies Creek, he was an extremely gifted scorer who dominated their conference while he was there

I agree. I can’t see us considering anyone weaker competition. We don’t blow anyone out(Div 1). Hard to blow out anyone when you only score in the upper 60’s/ very low 70’s.

Not sure why we scheduled 3 games in 3 days.

These ratings are about as useful as the AP top 25 after the first week. If we get to like 15-1 we will shoot up there!

It's a round robin we are hosting. It's a good, quick way to get more OOC games with minimal travel. Plus, it helps us prepare for the style of conference tournament (multiple games in consecutive days).

They lost at NC State by six. I wouldn't consider them a weakling. In fact, all three teams we play this weekend are not bad teams.

We went to OT at home with winless NC Central. Not to suggest they are a bad team but I would think they are on par with the teams we play this weekend.

I see this as mimicking a holiday tourney without having to spend money on travel. And as you suggest, simulates conference tournament play.

Still holding at 8 in the top 200. Louisiana, South Alabama, and Southern Miss are all making big jumps week over week. Many others are methodically inching up these ratings.

Remember these are ratings (forward looking) not rankings (backward looking).

A couple of inexplicable movers here are Old Dominion at 146 with a 4-4 record with the 110th best schedule.
Southern Miss is 8-0 against the 131st best schedule.
App has the 295th strongest schedule (oof)
