Roll 'Neers

1) Bring back - 'Give 'em Hell'...including the drum cadence following the fight song which leads into 'Give 'em Hell!'.

2) Secondly, promote 'Go Apps' (or 'Go App' for those not liking the use of plural as is found in our fight song)! Go, Fight, Kick A$$!

3) 'Roll Neers' is awful - The term is Alabama's and unique to them. It's sounds awful when students and alum use the words; it's embarrassing when used within official University posts/media or by staff. FTLOG please stop using it!

4) While we are throwing out opinions....I'm used to the 'App State' moniker, the band doing 'APP' as part of the opening routine, however, is not a good look IMO. Would prefer just the block A if they are dead-set on getting away from ASU.

I believe Arizona State sent a cease and desist letter to North Carolina's Band of Distinction, Appalachian State University Marching Mountaineers to stop spelling ASU so that is why they are now spelling App. It might have been Arkansas State University or one of the other ASU's

To my knowledge there was no cease and desist. It was simply an agreement when we joined the Conference as Arkansas State identifies as ASU. We decided to use APP STATE

I'm curious: what legal right does Arizona State, Arkansas State, or any other school with initials "ASU" have to dictate to Appalachian? I can understand if the logo/font/colors were similar or the same but they're not. I know this is not a legal hill to die on but dangit, is there nothing more important that those schools can concentrate on other than App's use of "ASU?"

This slogan is the primary impediment to us being invited to a P5 conference. It sounds like Alabama's little brother.

Some chants are iconic. When you think "Roll"..it follows with Tide...War Eagle, etc

Although I do not personally care for it. If the fans are loud, do what they need to do.

I know it’s not what you are conveying, but any loud cheer would make the FU at kickoffs acceptable

Roll Neers is the equivalent to cheering when the offense has the ball. It’s just the wrong thing to do and is correctable. As keepers of the tradition, it is our job to make things right.
