Re: Mountain Brew - App beer
Had a chance to try some yesterday… not good at all in my opinion. It was no better than Yosef’s golden if as good. I know it has to be a neutral beer to cater to masses, but didn’t do it for me.
R&D’s other offerings were pretty good. The 7 Saturdays IPA and Pilsner was solid .

I don’t and won’t drink the water beers or the grapefruit beers. Need a full-bodied beer with a little bite but not bitter. The Belgians have shown us how to make good beer - even though they are made in our country most of the time.

I wasn’t impressed. Didn’t love the Yosef ale either, but thought it was better.

I like a good dark lager. Period. All the rest is fads to appease hipsters.

$10 dollars for a beer? Good grief.

Re: Mountain Brew - App beer
It is for 24 ounces... so really two beers, so not terribly priced.
But, back on topic... Mountain Brew is, uh, ok... Definitely not any better than the Golden Ale.

I helped vote beer in Boone and could buy 12 Busch Beers for $3.69, what is the world coming to $8 and $10 a can? Like someone said earlier, "I've never been that thirsty."

Busch Light was $5.49 when I was there. Occasionally you could find Southpaw for $4.99. That was a darn steal.Black Saturday wrote: ↑Tue Sep 06, 2022 6:42 pmI helped vote beer in Boone and could buy 12 Busch Beers for $3.69, what is the world coming to $8 and $10 a can? Believe the small Harris teeter had 12 of southpaw bottles for $3.99 for at least one summer or so. Friends lived just up the hill from it and we’d fill some carts and push them up the hill. Good times.BeauFoster wrote: ↑Tue Sep 06, 2022 7:22 pmBusch Light was $5.49 when I was there. Occasionally you could find Southpaw for $4.99. Between that and the southpaw $5 drink to you drown at Rafters I should have had stock in that company.

I think you’re right. I had a friend who loved that stuff so much that his phone number was 297-spaw. He bought as many from Food Lion as they would sell him.biggie wrote: ↑Tue Sep 06, 2022 9:24 pmBelieve the small Harris teeter had 12 of southpaw bottles for $3.99 for at least one summer or so.
