Re: Sunbelt Championships ?
In the Bubas Cup standings, we sit 9th ahead of GA Southern, ULM, and LIttle Rock. We were second in Men's and Women's Cross Country, and football. Those are our best showings in the Belt sponsored sports.
Frankly, its disappointing to be that poor compared to our conference peers. Our athletic program's reputation rests largely on our football success.

Re: Sunbelt Championships ?
In the SoCon days I used to comment about how GaSo was a one sport school and maybe two with baseball as they generally was at the bottom of both cup standings. We are turning into that to be honest and that can be seen on Yosef Cabin. With the OTF championship there was hardly any discussion and tennis and golf go on with very little mention. That was not always the case.hapapp wrote: ↑Sun May 22, 2022 12:54 pmIn the Bubas Cup standings, we sit 9th ahead of GA Southern, ULM, and LIttle Rock. Looks like zero for 21-22. And yes I get the Hybrid SoCon thing , but I don't think of that as our conference affiliation. That's the SunBelt and at best we are treading water. My concern is that it's about to get a lot tougher.

Re: Sunbelt Championships ?
It was a frustrating year to be sure, but there is plenty of reason for optimism. It is years like this that make us appreciate the years that are much better. That said....i do hope that our other sports continue to improve in order to really become competitive in Sunbelt Sports. As a T&F fan, I've been very frustrated at what seems to be a lack of emphasis on T&F. The discontinuation of the men's indoor program makes it harder to recruit and field a competitive team. We never have funded the full number of scholarships, but we got away with that in the SoCon. The Belt is MUCH more competitive. I'm still cautiously optimistic about basketball and baseball. I do think App should be higher than 9th in the Bubba's Cup.

But are they "improving"? I see it in both hoops programs but that's about it.Football is the flagship , we need a big year-and I mean Championship year in 22.
