I don't know if anyone was aware that long-time university photographer Marie Freeman passed away on May 6. Here is her obituary from the Democrat:

Oh wow, this kind of shocked me. I worked with Marie at the Democrat 20+ years ago. I was there less than a year and didn't really stay in touch with anyone after I left. But I always enjoyed talking with her and covering events with her. Best wishes to her family.
