I'm just amazed at how well the numbers have gone versus other universities. Student vaccination rate now is over 80% and University employees are now over 90%. This is outstanding; quite remarkable actually.

Agreed. However, based upon the trolls on social media and some within the university, you would think that we are in the bottom tier.

Damn, I'd so fire Rick Rhenigins or whatever his name is. Boy ought to know better.

Some people will be displeased no matter what happens, just like every decision in the history of mankind.

It's good to have dissent and people who question the direction. Ensures a culture that doesn't stagnate or becomes complicit and demands accountability.

The App faculty senate has long had issues with university leadership, no matter who. The issues they have had with Everts or a administrative rep attending meetings goes back to before the pandemic.

Many professors don’t live in reality. They have ideas of how things work, but when applied in the real world it doesn't go as planned. But those that can’t teach do.

This guy is a perennially aggrieved entitled whiner. Everts and ASU have done a stellar job job managing this pandemic, probably the best in the system.

This professor sounds like the kind of person who thinks “laziness is a virtue”. This guy can go pound sand.

I don’t keep up with faculty senate business. It just seems to me and always has appeared nothing more than a gripe session and a platform for the intellect to pontificate. Until the Chancellor (whom ever she he may be) accepts the “suggestions “ of the now more informed and knowledgeable senate without question the Chancellor has a deaf ear. I loved my time at Appalachian and really liked many of my professors. Except world history n Appalachian Hall. That was torture. I don’t remember her name. I think lots of professors now feel the need to be woke to be relevant.

If the school had suggested mandatory vaccines they would have gone ballistic. You can’t win with this group.

My wife works at UNCW ….It’s like two worlds she drives 30 minutes to the south, I
drive 30 minutes to the north

It really is hilarious we had nonstop weddings from mid 2020 on, gave zero shits about Covid. Meanwhile at the University she has to wear a mask, and can only have one other person in the office 😂

Is it just me, or has covid turned a lot of people into self-righteous A-holes?
