Kidd Brewer in Microsoft Flight Sim

Unread post by brocktune90 » Fri Jan 07, 2022 1:28 pm

I was taking a leisurely flight from Bamboo Road out to the Linville Gorge the other night when I flew over the stadium and noticed that it's not rendered. In it's place is a large warehouse looking building. The baseball field is there, but not KBS. Anyone have insight on why that might be? They use satellite imagery, so it seems to replace it would be more labor intensive.

Had a great flight and landed safely back in Boone.

My guess would be the fact that Microsoft Flight Simulator uses Bing Maps, which in basically every category is inferior to Google Maps. There are MOD videos and Zip files out there that will allow you to use Google Maps on the game.

I've tried to fly there as well when I got the new flight sim and saw the same thing. To my understanding some objects get rendered and others don't for whatever reason. The Big House at Michigan is rendered but I think some stuff is randomly generated while some things have to be built by developers. NYC is fully 3D but not 100% accurate as some of the buildings are just procedurally generated.
