Heard on NPR that Watauga and many counties around Boone are under a tornado watch until early this morning. Stay safe. Remnants of Fred. Also up into Virginia tons of counties mentioned under the same watch.

Nasty night here in Linville tonight. Heavy rain and gusty winds. Power has been out at my house for 30-45 minutes.

Stay safe. I guess you have enough internet to post to YC, so things are not all that bad.
We might get a touch of rain in the Triad but it may miss us or at least my side of the Triad. There is a long bad of storms on the radar but that are not moving in the direction towards my area the last I looked.

Thanks. All good here. Generator kicked in so I’ve got it pretty easy. Rain is going to taper off so hopefully some sunshine tomorrow.

A number of tornadoes just down the mountain in Catawba, Caldwell, and Wilkes (unconfirmed as of yet, but videos already online). Hopefully the rest passes soon.

Hope all survived the weather with no major issues. If it were possible, I would gladly take days like this to live in the High Country full time

Burke County had to deal with tornadoes and earthquakes yesterday.
