Eric Church and Luke Combs are App State products that have both grown into performers that now command marquee status in 25,000 seat venues.
Don’t look now, but they may have company with another App State music group (although very different) on “the fast road to fame”.
Watch for RKS in an upcoming show sure to sell out the USCellular Center Asheville.

I heard them on 106.5 a while ago and told my wife. She loves them. The music is decent to me but on the slightly weird side for my taste.

Anyone know if they claim the Tarholes or are they actual App Alumni in more than name?

Yeah these are great guys. I was at App with them and helped them record and produce one of their albums. They've really made it to the next level and will continue to go up from here.

Definitely not my brand of beer, but I wish them luck.

The Nude Party is another good one that has been steadily gaining a following after spending the past year or so touring.

Yes, they used to play nude at house shows.

Very Doors-y. Definitely have to check out more of their stuff.

Glad to see Boone reestablishing a musical identity. The town is in desperate need of a good music venue. I hope the renovated Appalachian Theatre will be open to booking musial groups.

I'm known to be somewhat of a music critic, but I dig these dudes. I agree, very much a Doors/60s go go vibe. Unique style with clear influences, but still different enough to not sound like a cover band a la Greta Van Fleet knocking off Zeppelin.

Been streaming these guys at my deck all afternoon. Pretty good stuff. Sounds a lot like The Velvet Underground.

No doubt, maybe a little less conceptual than the VU. Just streamed a ton of their songs on my commute home. “Astral Man” is definitely worth a regular rotation. Good to know there is still some good music being created out there.

Just listened to Chevrolet Van. Sounds like a cross between Jagger and Lou Reed.

Yeah don’t scoff at them for their name, these guys are awesome and love Boone. Even if you don’t like their style of music you should at least be able to realize they’re very talented

It was great to hear the audience reaction too. Definitely a crowd favorite. I heard LUUUUUKKKKKEEEE! Loud and clear. And he is appsolutly a Mountaineer at heart (and a good Asheville AC Reynolds grad).

Although it’s not quite the same, App music major grad (from about 40 years ago) “R Mark Black” was inducted into the “Beach Music” hall of fame last weekend.

Great to see Luke win with Cole Swindell in the crowd wearing his GS hat
