RIP: Mike Hogewood, Former Voice of the Mountaineers

Numerous news outlets reported the death of NC sportscaster
Mike Hogewood on Wednesday. He was just 63. Hogewood was a former voice of App State football. After a long stint at News 2, WFMY-TV in Greensboro, Hogewood launched a successful run with freelance sportscasting, community theatre and advertising. RIP, Mike.

Liked him almost as much as Charlie Harville.

When was he a voice of the Mountaineers? It must have been very early in his career.

I believe it was 1987.

Spoke to Mr. Hogewood at a HPU basketball game last season. Great person and very gracious.

I remember when he first started in Greensboro. Didn't he work with Randy Jackson at channel 2?

Wow, he was young. Sad to hear as he did a lot of things around the NC sports scene
