that was the guy who played on the football team, right? He did very well for himself, and irrc is a good contributer to App
We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Mint is a good spot...T-Dog wrote: ↑Mon May 19, 2025 9:21 pmOn the other end, Melanie's moved to Howard Street and is doing very well there. I just went on Sunday and enjoyed it. The owners of Mint are opening a new concept at the former Melanie's. Mellow Mushroom just reopened after renovations.
The Local just opened a sister restaurant called The Social along King Street, kinda next to Horton Hotel. It has speakeasy vibes despite its bland name. Horton also opened a second hotel just a few steps down the road.
A lot of change going on as the ripple effects from Helene and increased costs cause challenges.

We frequented Sollecito’s Pizza as it was a short walk from Mountaineer Apartments (apartments gone except for our driveway entrance
).

Another common site in locally-owned restaurants up here: menus are shrinking due to rising costs and sourcing issues.
I have to admit, I didn’t complain much about the roads being full this weekend. The businesses up here need visitors.

Re: Boone Restaurants Closing
When I was a student there was a gas station on BR Rd that sold 3 hot dogs for 99 cents. Wouldn’t pass sanitation codes now but back in the early 80s it was a great deal for a poor college student. No telling what the hell was in those dogs and I really don’t want to know.

Ha!
