And yet we fielded a successful program for years with no facilities. We now have an indoor track in the Holmes Center (such as it is) although I understand that facility is primarily available for basketball. My point is that those same athletes will be in training for Outdoor season whether there is an indoor season (for them) or not. Seems like the Indoor practice facility would be a good place for field athletes to work out. As I said....I'm sure they ran the numbers, and I am biased, but it's hard to understand.

What is the travel cost (on average) for away football and basketball conference games? How many times each year do we fly the teams? Obviously last year we should have seen some savings with bus trips to Chapel Hill and Columbia. I would think that we take a bath with basketball especially the away games in virtually empty gyms.

I am sure that Men's Basketball flew to Michigan. The rest of the OOC schedule was most likely bus trips.
Probably flew for the South Al./Troy weekend, flew to the UT Arlington/Texas State weekend, flew for the Ark. St./Little Rock Weekend (possibly bused in for Ga. State/Southern), flew for the one off to ULM and flew for the conference tournament game at Texas State. So, you are looking at 6-7 flights for the season
The women would have flown to Michigan and possibly for the Tournament in Deland, Fla, then 5 flights in conference.
The Sun Belt does a good job with the travel partners of minimizing travel (as they can within the geography).
However, G5 Programs should be in Regional Conferences with Bus Trips as the norm for away games.

Dropping outdoor T&F would effectively remove CC as those athletes won’t come just to run in the fall.
