My list is still influenced by my time at App in the 70s: 1- Ga Southern (terrible experience in Statesboro & will not return; 2- Marshall (hate green almost as much as purple); 3- JMU (obnoxious fanbase/reason to hate purple again); 4- ECU (still hate Pat Dye); 5- Coastal Chickens (they have mullets...nuff said)

GS is still #1 for me. Can't replace traditional rivalries on a whim.

Coastal has been more irritating in recent years, partially for their success but also because they just seem personally unlikable.

I don't know that I really have a grudge with anyone else. Maybe South Carolina for backing out of their game in Boone.

Marshall is a traditional rival, but at least for now I respect them more than hate them.

Charlotte... fun to beat, but outside of game week when we play them, I never think about them.

I don't really care about any of the stuff OP said about JMU. It does stick in my craw that they beat us in their first year of moving up, though. They're probably most likely to join my list, if only for that reason.

Yeah I'm getting there quickly. In reading some of the Sunbelt message boards I have never seen such a group of people as JMU fans who no matter what the conversation find a way to make it about their team. Proud bunch of people, but beyond obnoxious. They are already in my top 5.

I'm also thinking all sports. Charlotte is better than us at baseball and basketball. They do have a better all-sports profile than we do. Football not even close. But that's why I hate them so much. They act like they're destined for major conference membership and thus far - without any actual results to warrant it - they keep stepping up the ladder. Drives me nuts.

It is the current conference model that broke C-USA and will break the AAC, colleges in big cities must be better than those little college town schools.

I hated them from the 2008 game and was so looking forward to last fall...and....I can't type more now. Instead I will go into the corner and rock back and forth on the floor in the fetal position.

Honestly, I live in the Triangle area and have never met anyone in person that claims to be a UNCC fan. Not kidding. They just aren't on my radar at all.

I’m in the triangle also. No UNCC fans. I worked with a woman that graduated from Charlotte. The snottiest you know whatest you’ve ever met. UNCC had nothing to do with her poor human behavior. She was a Tarhole fan until the gold diggers played Appalachian. I retired she got fired, we beat UNCC, it all worked out.

I'm surprised at CCU on people's list.

Agreed that Marshall would be #2 on my list, but I remember the 80's and early 90s.

If you went to the game in Conway last year and walked past or sat near the student section, you'd have Coastal on your list as well.

I was there and not a fan of those of the things said to my daughter as we exited.
