ya, I hate the corn cobb floating head on the helmet, if you want to put it on the pants or shoulder pads, fine, but not the helmet. We are trying to grow our brand nationally, hard to do, when you have a cartoon character on the helmet, the block A looks great, don't know why they want to mess with it.

Because you have to keep up with the times and the joneses. The more options you give the more of an impression you make during recruiting. Personally I like the Yosef helmets

Like the helmet, lukewarm on the jersey. I don't like the font or all-lowercase of the "appalachian," and I really don't like App in gray jerseys.

I think if the announcement is that uniform, it'll be one or two games at most. We don't have a historic uniform like Alabama or Auburn, so our culture is new uniforms every once in a while. I'm no fan of grey uniforms for any App team, but if it helps recruiting, go for it.

If I had to bet I'd put my money on these uni's being worn for Howard and Troy.

The schedule poster has Black "A" beside Wyoming, GS, and ULL. Then there is the Stars and Stripes "A" for the stAte game which is Heroes Day. Beside Troy and Howard is a gold "A" so that leads me to believe we will wear something different those two games. I was personally hoping we'd wear the white "A" for those two.

see, I love the black and grey jerseys, with the block A helmets, looks badass and intimidating , don't know why we want to cartoon it up, but, to each his own. Hey, atleast its not those helmets from the early eighties with the mountaineer head, with, it looked like rainbows, trailing behind them!!

Considering that Coach Sloan's post was from May 14th and App State Equipment's post was last night I'm going to hold off until they actually announce their "big news" before deciding it's those alt unis. Probably is but we'll see.

I wouldn't really call the one-color Yosef head a "cartoon," but for those who object, other helmets with "cartoons" include:

USC
Missouri
Arkansas
Louisville
Michigan State
Iowa
Texas
TCU
Kansas State

Of course those all refer to those schools' base helmets; doesn't even get into alternates, which of course this one would be for App.

I think they're freakin' sweet. No mixing of old logos with futuristic fonts and fifteen different colors. Just black and gold, baby.

These are just alternates... right? The "New Deal... New Look" slogan is pretty vague there.

Oh wow... LOVE those jerseys. Don't love the all-gold - would prefer gold jersey/black pants or the inverse. But for an alternate, very solid look.
