A GREAT weekend for our Apps! Tough ending but man, this team has no quit and we love to see it. Here are the other finals from Sunday.

We are currently in a four way tie for fifth place at 3-3 with Coastal, Troy, and GS. UL and Ga State are tied for first at 5-1, Tx State and So Miss are tied for third at 4-2.

Pretty simple. To be at the top you need to win 2 of 3 nearly every weekend and sweep the bad teams as well as don't take bad losses to the bad. Easier said than done but that's the deal. A home sweep loss to Coastal probably would have doomed us but that was HUGE to get the series. Pitching is the key. We need weekend starters to go 6 innings and the bullpen needs to hold the fort.

We know we can compete. We “stole” 1 from Coastal, almost 2!!
I’m loving our starting pitching trying to grind out innings as Steensma and Chirico aren’t far off from being short inning relievers. For the most part, they’ve been great, then when it gets to the 4th or 5th they might have blow up innings. If we can just get them extended a little and find a way to not give up a 5 or 6 spot in bad innings we will be in good shape. Some of that is stamina from them, pitch sequence from Leggett and knowing when to go to the pen (even though that’s sketchy). These guys are fighting…and winning! Defense has been playing lights out!

No. The T-Shirt I had back in 1993 said Furman Sucks, and Marshall...let's see how I can put this...is a little more daring.

Haha, my brother made that shirt and we sold it for a fund raiser. In all honesty he stole the idea from others schools but it worked. My wife cut mine up into rags years ago because she said it was inappropriate for our 4 young kids to see. Still mad at her about that. Loved that shirt, the message was just so appropriate.

Coastals pitching might be worse than ours.

Very surprised by their recent run of losses. Pitching was their downfall last season but they had very high hopes for this year. First real test on the road and they haven't been up to snuff to this point. Interesting to see what could happen with them the rest of the way. No way they stay ranked after this week though.
