$750k is like NFL minimum wage. Do some of these collectives value these dudes that much and are willing to pay them as a backup? If you aren't on a video game, a cereal box or hawking for a heating and air company how exactly does NIL apply?
If the guy fits your system, and you have no other options, I guess you will pay whatever you can to keep your job - especially if qb is your missing link.

I find it hard to believe that this guy is the $750k answer to someone’s prayers, but if he can get it, then good for him. There’s people out there with more money than sense, apparently.

Some other ways NIL is used that other students can do:

Social media influencer (hawking a product or marketing one)
Appearance events at local venues
Sale of apparel with their name or image on it
Build your own business (this is more about getting investors)

As long as if people want to dump more money into 18-22 year olds than the pro teams want to pay their rookies, things are gonna be nuts.

I hope we are closer to getting the structure together to do more NIL wise. I was told 2 years ago that was the case.

An easy thing they can do is have a 3rd party vendor, and the sell autographs all day off a website.

I'd pay money for a Joey Aguilar signed football, just to support.

I would pay for a signed helmet from Coach.
Besides his signature, I would insist him adding

When Satt was here, I would have paid good money for him to autograph one of the for sale signs that was put in his yard early in his tenure. That would have been hilarious (to me, maybe not to him). I always supported him, though.

The ULL QB is being reported to have received $750k+ NIL offer, ULL had $400k to try to keep him. Just impossible to keep a decent player these days for most G5 programs.
Anyone have knowledge of the ins and outs of these NIL deals. For example are they performance based, only apply as long as you are actively playing, the deals aren't just "hey here is $750 or $400" - one time deposit no take backs right? Before Joey was a big name in Boone - River Street Ale house promoted "Joey Wings" and before the season Burger had the Cardinal Burger - Burger, what do these small deals look like compared to the big numbers of paying to get a player like $750?
It can be anything that the 2 parties agree to. This include the wing deal or a one time payment for a lambo. There really are no guiderails and the NCAA is powerless to do anything so it is the wild west where anything goes. If you can dream it, you can do it.

Mass exodus from JMU after the bowl game...most headed to Indiana.

Nine off the current roster and 5 JMU commits have flipped to Indiana.

Be interesting to see if IU can compete in Big 10 with jmu players. Interesting that the QB in the portal has not committed somewhere.

I really could not care less but hopefully the Indiana fans don't see their new coach pull a Deion and bring a bunch of his former players thinking that they are all that and will light it up at his new gig. A bunch of FCS level dudes ain't gonna just make the leap to major college football and sorry to say it but the same can be said for good G5 to the Big 10. There is simply a divide between the talent levels. I firmly believe that our 11-1 App team could have gone 9-3 in the ACC but probably 6-6 in the SEC, Big10 or Pac12.

Vidal, the Troy RB who scored all those touchdowns against us, is going pro.

Yes I was only referring to that one team that season with all things being equal. Assuming our athletic budget was the same as that year. That particular team probably could have competed and done well in a couple of P conferences. Obviously it would have depended on who we played and at what point in the season. Even that strong team might have had some injuries if we had to slug it out with better power 5 teams.
