The whole transition thing makes no sense. JMU can't win the conference, can't go to a bowl, could go 12-0 and be top 15 ranked but losses to them count in the Belt.
Makes me wonder who thought up this rule and why?
i don't know either, but it can benefit us this season so right now it is a good rule.

I believe it was Marshall’s fault who used partial qualifiers during their transition.

I thought CCU would fall back to earth once McCall and Chodewell left, I was a year late.

I’ve always been a McCall hater, but he’s impressed me. I thought he was going to be average at best once all his studs left last year, but he’s still putting up big numbers and they’d probably only have won 2 games this year without him. Had he not gotten injured yesterday, they probably win. His mobility would have extended several drives where they had to give the ball back. I hope Chodeswell stays forever, I want to see that dude suffer.

Their defense couldn’t stop the run McCall had sent on defense.

On the flip side ODU looked pretty damned good and can beat us like they beat Coastal today, and Coastal can sure beat us because they can pass, unless we've signed a few Ronnie Lotts this week, APP has a lot to prove on defense. Anyway, the door has been opened a little as for now we've picked up a game in the standings but have to follow through. Cautiously optimistic.
I like how you emphatically state both teams will basically beat us then end by saying you are cautiously optimistic :-)
yes, I'm a big homer
Im right there with ya. The rest of the year is gonna be crazy

I had to go look at ODU's games played so far. What an up and down team. Beat a bad Virginia Tech team, lost to probably an equally bad UVA team, barely beat one of the bad Belt west teams, thumped by ECU and Liberty. They have definitely played a challenging schedule so far. Coastal simply could not stop them at all. Whoever wins the Belt will ultimately have to find some semblance of a defense. It's gonna come down to making 2-3 stops in any matchup. I think we will get right on offense and will score points but we will have to get our defense off the field in the last big games

He tweaked his ankle injury, but played through it, mostly second half

This along with pulling funding and scholarships from other programs to fund football. The two year probation period is to skip the NQs and getting funding correct.
