I saw the video of the student getting pushed and the student either said something or just walked right in front of the player, or did both. Either way I don't blame the Troy player for the slight push, even if the student did a face plant.
Don't know if we saw the same video, but the one I saw it was not an App student, but a child. And it looked like he just ran by the Troy player, and the dude shoved him by the head. I'm actually surprised it hasn't been a bigger deal. My friend showed it to me and we both immediately said "that dude's getting suspended."
I have never rushed the field and I am not sure if I "rushed" but I did go onto the field. It was more than a mosey but not a run either. I was looking out for Troy players and staff, to stay out of there way, but was on the side of the winning play so I avoided them if only by locations of me and them and their locker room. I mostly yelled and hugged a few App players, one coach, and two parents. And I left rather quickly once I got that out of me. It was cathartic for sure. Maybe I just needed that given the fact I am lucky to be here given the medical problem I had last winter. I don't know, but it was a release of emotions for me that was a bit more than I expected.

Had I got smacked down by a Troy player I would have deserved it for just getting in their way. That does not mean then should smack me down and then kick me while I am on the ground. But pushing someone out of the way as they are trying to get to the locker room; I can't be mad nor expect any punishment for a Troy player even if a smaller child was pushed.

In hindsight I am a bit surprised I did this and I have never done that before but I was truly caught up in the emotions. I was fully aware of what I was doing and could not stop myself to be honest. I am not sure I am embarrassed I did what I did or not but it was done and I can own up to it. I did not interact with any Troy fans after the game, and before the game I was very thankful they visited and told a few fans that very fact. I don't feel too much the villain here to be honest. And I will not do it again, hopefully (but no promises.)

You saw the edited video.. what you didn't see is the App fan pushing #28 on Troy ahead of time. Does that make it right for what the Troy player did? APPsolutely not.

But, the fan was not innocent either. You can see in the edited video two other App fans taunting #28 as well as the Troy player that pushed the fan pointing at him.

Again, Troy player should have held his composure better but it wasn't unprovoked at all.

I have some less than pleasant memories of the duck pond and my roommate that drowned himself in that pond in the spring of 1989. I imagine I have some PTSD from that as I do get a bit of an elevated blood pressure it feels like when I see anyone jump in the pond. It is either rush the field or nothing for me. Every time I walk to KBS I think of him for a minute, as I should, it would seem. He deserves that.

I do appreciate that others can have wonderful memories of the Duck Pond.

Edit: Ah, OK, I found the one you're talking about. OK, yeah, I don't feel sorry for the little twerp now. Also I thought it was a kid, but maybe just a diminutive App student.

Troy can have a beef with the clock operator and we can have a beef with the officiating. I’m not so sure there should not have been 3 additional seconds on the clock after the intentional safety. Looks like Troy QB stepped on the back line before running out of the side of the end zone. Hard to see on video, but very close.
I slowed that one down on my DVR and he was out of bounds in the back endzone so we should have had more time.
Didn’t need more time

No worries. It is not something I bring up all the time, and yet it is nice for me to talk every now and then. I don't need to do that every day but I do appreciate talking about Sporty every now and then.
