MU grads in my wife's family in the Tri-State metro area are saying that Wells almost walked last year after the WV Hierarchy (led by the Governor) canned Doc Holliday--the most successful coach in MU's FBS history. Eventually, he was talked into giving Huff a chance. Word is the two never could get on the same page. The kid has decided that MU's program will likely tank and he wants no part of it. He's hittin' the road...

I'm not so sure about this story. Let's see if other MU stand-outs follow Wells to the portal! Let's also see if Huff has recruited a flashy QB over Wells. He may simply want his own recruit running the Herd show.
