Confirmed by Keith Gill at the Marshall presser today.

Marshall, the defending national champs, have a team, as do ODU and potential future member JMU.

Out of the remaining members, Coastal (CUSA) and both GSUs (MAC) have teams. So that's six right there.

With UAB, Charlotte and FAU going to the American, CUSA men's soccer is all-but dead.

South Carolina and Kentucky are affiliate CUSA men's soccer members and would likely defect over. The only full CUSA member left with men's soccer is FIU, who is actually first place right now.

West Virginia was going to join CUSA in men's soccer next year, so they can be brought in to make 9 or 10 members.

EDIT: UCF men's soccer is also possible, since the Big XII doesn't sponsor men's soccer and who knows if the AAC would like them stay ala App State Wrestling in the SoCon.

1. Coastal
2. Georgia State
3. Georgia Southern
4. Marshall
5. Old Dominion
6. James Madison

7. South Carolina
8. Kentucky
9. West Virginia

10. FIU
11. UCF

That's a heck of a men's soccer league. 3-4 ranked teams at all times, national champs, it'd be a good league for App State to jump back into.

This! Doug Gillin hasn’t missed on many things as AD, but shutting down men’s soccer? This decision needs to be revisited

Bring back Mens Soccer in 2023. Let’s focus on growing contributions and support to make it happen.

Can't bring back soccer without more women's sports. We're better off without it than trying to generate more sports for Title 9. If we ever fully fund what we currently have, then it could be a discussion.

Generally this would be correct, but since we already had a men's soccer team and we didn't cut any women's teams then I think it is safe to say we would still be Title IX compliant if we reinstated men's soccer. We should be at an excess on the women's side of things since we only cut men's sports teams. This isn't to say that we can afford to reinstate the team, just that Title IX shouldn't be an issue.

The travel expenses to that list of schools would be favorable. No plane rides
