If you guys would like to see the junk that Charlotte fans are saying about App State and the move, check out the link below. Since when do Charlotte fans and alumni have the same arrogant attitude that the Tarheels do?

Honestly that thread is pretty mild by their standards. Relatively realistic speculation and only a few jabs at App: a rarity among these guys. I could find 100 examples of them being much more delusional and arrogant towards App State than your link.

Go for it. I'm ready to talk as much junk to them as they have to us. I'm also ready to whoop their arses on the field in a few years and show them what a real football team looks like.

As a seasoned veteren of arguing with delusional UNCc fans, I must caution you that it can get a bit ridiculous. As a psychology minor in undergrad, I find their arrogant groupthink fascinating and that is why I've waisted so much time going back and forth with them over the past year or two. Some might find it frustrating and downright disturbing that a group of people would have such a twisted opinion of their relative institutional value.

I've had UNCc fans insist that they are a basketball powerhouse and that they are slated to make it to the SEC within the decade. There's actually a healthy percentage of their message board folks that think they're somehow more relevant in the general sports world than Appalachian and, even more troublingly, that UNCC is a better school academically than App (despite the massive discrepancy in admissions standards) .You just can't really take them seriously and you certainly can't reason with them. From their "Charlotte" rebranding efforts to the UNCC Rival Stars flub of 2012, they are an exemplification of little-man syndrome.

Just making sure you know what you're getting yourself into. Just mentioning their name in this thread title should bring a handful to the board. After looking at your link and around the site a bit, I don't see a single App poster. They're obsessed.

Don't worry. Anyone who's ever taken a 100 level psych class can see through their bravado. They're scared. They've been pounding their chests for a year and new we're on the same level (even though theirs was earned to no credit of their own). They know that success on the FBS football field is going to take a while, if ever, and they know that with our foundation and tradition we could be right on the cusp of blowing up.

Well, I might just have to go head to head with a few of them. Charlotte fans think they own the state, now that they're FBS bound, of course, but we're going to put them in their place real fast. I sincerely hope we do not start a rivalry with them. We can do better, and I would much rather be rubbing shoulders with ECU fans or Wake Forest fans rather than pompous Charlotte fans, which have absolutely no history in football, or athletics for that matter.

That's the ticket. Beat their ass a couple times, establish the recruiting pecking order, then never play them again. Well, maybe in Boone ONLY.

Agreed. We've played in enough thimble sized stadiums in the SoCon. Home and home if/when they expand (for god sakes we would bring 35k fans to UNCC if they had room for it). Till then, they can come up the Mountain for their arse whoopin'.

Well I sure do have a lot of fans over there

Gotta love being called a 'retard' and never having a single one of my assertions attacked directly. That's another thing about arguing with Cee fans: If any of them were particularly smart they would have gone to school elsewhere. Deflection and logical fallacies are the tactics of choice in that camp.

Pure entertainment. I laughed out loud when they asked you to renounce me.

Keep up the good work.

The D-K effect has been shown to be much more prevalent in vaginal probes (49ers). That's why it is more commonly known as "the big head."

Some of the worst reactions out of Charlotte have come from WFNZ announcers on the "Bustin' Loose" show from 12-3. Frank Garcia, a brain damaged moron, spent the whole 3 hours ridiculing App State and the SBC. This genius surmised that the FBS would be good for Charlotte and awful for us. To make matters worse, Mark Yarborough, a geek and horrible voice, is an App alum and self-professed NC State fan who spent the whole show mocking App and saying "Be careful what you wish for." He repeatedly made fun of the SBC and the bowls we might play in, saying over and over "Well, at least maybe they can meet Danica Patrick." As an App grad, it is disgusting to hear him Cheerlead like a little girl for State and join in with the ACC App bashers.

it was a really bad day for Judy and the administration when they found out App was moving up. From UNCC perspective, it was important for us to remain in the FCS for as long as possible so they could pass us, and ultimately, perhaps even on a national basis, be recognized as a much stronger program. Now, their strongest advantage over us is gone, the facts now are UNCC is way behind us in tradition, fan support, and facilities. Can they catch and pass us some day? Sure, but Judy was counting on that day happening much sooner, now things just got much more difficult for them.

Maybe if you don't feed the trolls, then the trolls will go away. I read the boards too and it seems when you (not in anyone in particular) have the opportunity to "walk" away, you just jump right back into it and throw more fuel on the fire.

Yep. I don't get the obsession with UNCC.

Agreed, let them be. All of their fans don't hate us. If some of them decide to waste their time insulting us, who cares? No need for us to do the same.

This has been a very good week and there are much more important things to discuss.

I agree, believe it or not. You won't see me registering on NN.net just to stir up trouble, even though they make a habit of insulting me specifically in addition to what they say about App on their site.

I'm keen to write how I feel about them in an App forum when the topic is brought up by other people, but that's about as far as I'll go these days. Let them obsess about us. I'll be cracking a beer and drinking to them as I celebrate our long-overdue FBS move.

Cheers!!

Some of the ECU fans that I know are far more arrogant than the "typical" UNC-C fans I've run across. Anecdotal, perhaps, but still.
