Kind of silly to make a major announcement this week. Even if it's "GaSo to the SBC" it will be buried in the back of the sports section behind all the March Maddness stuff.

In any case, I will be pissed if they go official with the Sunbelt before we do.

Why wouldn't it just be the announcement of their new basketball coach?

Kinda strange for the band to be on call for a new bball coach.

It's a link from one message board post to a post on another message board that had no backlink to a credible source. We have been down this road before...haven't we?

Why? Ever consider we may have more options to weigh? This is a fluid situation and things are constantly changing. Don't allow your ego get ahead of your brain.

Is it possible that AppState has an offer on the table which maybe hasn't been accepted, because there are others?

I know that's way out there but with all the other movement, I was just thinking.

The SB just had so many pieces in place that I would almost think that if GSU was ready to except a SB invite that there would be some announcements planned for the SB as well as some of the other schools that were in play.

I can't remember all the options, but was GSU joining alone even one of their options?

I can only see one reason for a GSU stand alone announcement is if App is on the fence and the SB is hoping GSU going forward would make it an easier decision for another school.

Otherwise I would think it's an unrelated announcement.

I know that's a lot of "if'ing"!

Yes we have. So far the only thing I've seen is the email to the marching band and pep band. Not sure that necessarily constitutes an FBS announcement, but I guess we'll see. There will be a lot of upset Mountaineer fans if GSU gets the jump on App.

It was just tweeted that ASU will accept a bid on Wed.

Just looking for reasons to be pissed off I guess. Who cares who announces first?

I just want to say, I made a push to attend the 2011 Game in Boone because at that time I thought you guys would leave us for the C-USA and we would be stuck in the SoCon forever.

Today, I could not be more happy to call App State a conferece rival for the 2014 season in the SBC. I love you, all of you, until this thursday. Once all of the celebrations are over then it's back to our regularly scheduled hate

I think this post said it best "Two of the most prominent teams in the second tier of college football will be moving up, as Georgia Southern and Appalachian State...".

Now really they should have had APP first since we're the better team but the main point is that it's "two" of the best and most historic team will be joining the same conference. Hopefully we can be rivals and challenging each other to not only be the best "we" can be but help improve the SB as well.

Looking forward to some good games ahead.
