Re: SBC releases Pre-Season Selections
The fact that Hampton and Jones are not on the list is stupidity. Jones could end up 2nd team if people throw away from him but in the preseason it looks bad with the year he has had. Hampton should have a monster year so I don't get that snub. The East Division poll seems to be the best of all those done. I don't think JMU finishes last and I do think it is because us and Coastal Carolina. I just don't think anyone goes undefeated. UL benefits from a very weak West. USA and Troy will be interesting. I would love a rematch with UL in Boone.

The real head scratcher is that someone voted for Georgia Southern to win the East...

What is a realistic ranking for Chase among returning Belt QB's? Forget this preseason stuff?

2nd. McCall is the clear #1. I can't think of anyone else in the Belt that has the pure mechanics Chase has.

I actually had not even looked at the article until I had typed that. Sounds like he is definitely considered the number 2 in the conference.ArmantiWaterSafety wrote: ↑Wed Jul 27, 2022 9:12 am2nd. Re: SBC releases Pre-Season Selections
I’m not of the opinion that McCall is the “clear” #1. He may very well be. He put up some solid efficiency stats last year, no question. But he is operating behind a new line and new receiving targets this year. Add to it that he hasn’t thrown with these guys in the last six months to gain a connection. We will see how good he really is this year.ArmantiWaterSafety wrote: ↑Wed Jul 27, 2022 9:12 am2nd. McCall is the clear #1. Honestly, I don’t disagree with him. They have the fewest question marks than anyone else in the East. They’ve beat Coastal. App is the last hurdle.

Re: SBC releases Pre-Season Selections
I don't expect to go undefeated in league play but there is zero excuse for us to lose to Ga State this year. They return a lot but we have consistently beat them head to head in recruiting, we got a good QB, loaded backfield, good OL, and enough on defense to be solid. I could see the game being a 10 point win type of game but we should not lose to them. I understand why Shawn feels the way he does but only major injuries or a really bad game plan should cost us.

I can't blame him but we should be ashamed if we lose to them. They haven't been able to beat us for recruits so we should have more talent.

Re: SBC releases Pre-Season Selections
I have watched the media days broadcast for each of the schools.Interesting enough.I have to say that Cignetti is some kind of ummm different. Looked like he was chewing gum during his remarks ? Anyway , I don't doubt that he can coach but something is a bit different....
