Fans of GA Southern... disturbing, yet who's really surprised?

I'm guessing it's the same types who've yelled obscenities and thrown studd at me every time I've been there.

Most the alums are actually nice and know there's a douchebag part of their student body.

Heard is that it was Military/Law Enforcement Appreciation Day and that SSU did an anti-police/BLM-ish halftime show, which didn't go over well.

I totally believe this !!! - I have been going to sporting events for over 60 years and our first and LAST trip to GaSo was the worst I have experienced ---

Just allegations at this point, I will hold judgement for some proof. Kids now days also have a interesting view of what is racial, sexist, or homophobic comments with the safe space brigades and micro aggressors everywhere.

The article mentions SSU and Ga South being rivals. I don't know what planet those two schools are.

My desire and my hope is that Appalachian will always be perceived by visiting teams and fans as a great venue to visit (perhaps GS excepted). The lessons I learned from pure Montana hospitality encouraged me to be aggressive in welcoming visitors whenever, wherever I see them.

When the visiting team hits the field, I applaud or stand quietly. I detest booing visiting athletes and refuse to do so unless they exhibit behavior on the field that warrants such. Just me and the way I think.

Really? I believe it's more than just allegations when you have more than a few witnesses.

ABSOLUTELY !!! - VT also did a good job of having "greeters" posted all around who welcomed fans, offered to answer questions, etc.

They probably call their football team similar names when they don't perform well, but then praise them when they win. It's how racists people operate.
