I really don't remember this history, specifically among their administration. A few out there fans is typical of every fan base. Do you care to support this with statements made by folks actually representing the the school?Gonzo wrote:The saga of UNCC football is proof positive that karma is real. From the day they found out they were getting a team their fans and administration pronounced the death of App State football. They set their sights on us because, at least at the time, our level of success seemed achievable.
I agree. I am sure we have our fair share of trolls that hit up other school's message boards. Other than the UNCC trolls that come occasionally on here, I've not heard any other arrogant comments from say their school or team. Then again I live in Northern Virginia. Not too many UNCC fans up this way.CVAPP wrote:I really don't remember this history, specifically among their administration. A few out there fans is typical of every fan base. I've heard from a few people that Judy named us with regularity. It's hearsay, but I believe it.CVAPP wrote:I really don't remember this history, specifically among their administration. A couple years ago I went through my old card collection and pulled out all the people that had NC ties except for the Prig5 schools.CVAPP wrote:I really don't remember this history, specifically among their administration. That is fantastic. Of course, like every other FBS team, it's obviously because they're scared to play Southern because of the time they beat a 4-8 SEC team.APPdiesel wrote:Can we all take a moment to giggle at the fact that Georgia Southern has been trying to bait Vanderbilt into a h&h for 2 years and Georgia State just signed them to one?

I keep learning things I must have been oblivious to a mere few years back. When did CUSA vote on whether or not to invite APP to join? I don't recall APP ever being a formal candidate. Remember, our media market was too small?moehler wrote:things went south with us and UNCC when they voted to keep us out of CUSA, they were hoping and praying we would be stuck in FCS for many years, and their football program would pass us.
CVAPP: The President's and AD's have meetings, just like the Belt admins have meetings, and during one of those meetings names of schools were brought up for a vote to extend an invite to. The names may not have been "formal candidates" but we know who was discussed and voted on. A lot like the Belt meeting that took place where several schools were voted on and where the Coastal invite came out of. While no formal announcement of the results was made public quite a few people know what the results were. People talk and others have sources. Who voted how is well known. And what was said is too. Media market was a big factor, as we all know, and CUSA is paying a price for their shortsightedness now with the new TV contract. But it wasn't the only thing said during the meeting.CVAPP wrote:I keep learning things I must have been oblivious to a mere few years back. I am going to disagree with you too, but in this case, with the utmost of respect.firemoose wrote:CVAPP: The President's and AD's have meetings, just like the Belt admins have meetings, and during one of those meetings names of schools were brought up for a vote to extend an invite to.
