What's even more interesting to me is who placed the winning bid.

I wonder if you would get more money from an auction versus selling tickets for $100 a pop and the winner is drawn from the purchased tickets.
But that's great for them. I'm not sure how big his company is, but can you imagine the exposure stAte will get in his company now? I'm sure his office will have stAte items and when other CEO's of companies pay a visit, they will be proudly displayed on his wall.
May be a good thing for App to explore.

Judging by how much corporate jargon he managed to spew in a couple of sentences about a football scrimmage, I'm going to guess this is as much about the guy wanting exposure for himself and his company as for A-State.
But hey, the check cashes the same either way.

Didn't western Carolina do this a few years back, but for a live play in a regular season game?

I think the winning bidder was also named mayor of Cullowhizz, had a building named for him, rceived three sacrificial freshmen, and was given an honorary doctorate. The winning bid was $0.68, three paper clips, a stick of gum, and a booger stuck to some pocket lint.
