They will be out for blood in Boone. And they might get it in more ways than one.
You were saying the same shit last year and look how it turned out. Clearly Clark isn’t the guy to get App to the playoff, but it doesn’t mean JMU is going to come into Boone and cake walk. South Alabama got 2 weeks of prep and rest to App’s 3 days. Let’s see what happens moving forward before casting too much judgment.

As it turns out, Clemson is really good. The UGA game got away from them but it doesn’t matter. If Miami and Clemson continue to win; both will get in the playoff. The UGA game was nothing more than a preseason exhibition with the new playoff.
I don't expect JMU to cake walk us. Depending on how Liberty looks tonight I expect us to beat them but I still think we go 7-5 or 8-4 unless I see a lot of improvement over the next 3 games though. I do think the SBC is down this year and our champ might be 9-3.
Barnett figured something out today. He had been garbage in every start and then today comes in with almost 500 yards of offense and 7 touchdowns.

I just think the doom and gloom here is a bit much. There is a huge amount of attrition on the defense already, to the point where freshman are playing at every level.

On offense, you’re really lacking speed. Ponce has always had one or two speed guys to stretch the field and that is missing right now. At the ECU game, receivers couldn’t get off of man coverage. At ECU, receivers couldn’t get off of man coverage. South Alabama seemed to play quarters a lot which is ideal for stopping the deeper routes, and they were able to win up front despite being outmanned in numbers.

So how do you fix that? Speed.
Part of my concern on the speed issue is that we either did not go out and try to get it or we just missed out and got beat by our piers for it. I see speed on other teams so we know it was out there.
I have a different theory on speed…. I’m starting to think we have an identity crisis. Historically we’ve been a physical, run the ball team. We’ve had periods of spread quick speed. But right now I don’t know who we are and I’m not sure anyone does. Which is why when we are recruiting, we don’t always see speed, don’t always see physicality. It’s kind of odd really. Who are we?

JMU O line is impressive. Given the disparity in resources, Chesney has done a heck of a job.
