Re: Week 3 Other Games discussion
I highly doubt it’s accurate. Except for the Lambuth series.

Re: Week 3 Other Games discussion
It's actually more shocking,
Since joining FBS in 2013:
1-0 vs Vandy
1-0 vs Tennessee
1-0 vs Tennessee-Martin
1-1 vs Tennessee-Chattanooga
0-1 vs Memphis
0-1 vs Tennessee St.
SEC 2-0
AAC 0-1
FCS 2-2

Re: Week 3 Other Games discussion
If there was an eliminator pool so to speak for
the G5 representative in the CFP by my count it’s at 27ish teams right now still in it. I took out any 2 loss team and any with a conference loss already. This would be kind of interesting to see (theoretically) each week. The media (and many of us) speculate WAY too early as the season is long and that early season darling could always fall flat- UNLV for example.

This would be an excellent time to have both of those on the schedule and in the future.

The ridiculous SEC is going to annually include what are otherwise pretty decent teams who will routinely go 6-6 or 7-5 and the stadiums will rain down boos. FSU needs to quietly back off trying to leave the ACC and maybe see if CUSA has any interest.

Yeah, the FSU football team isn’t really giving their army of expensive lawyers much to help bolster their case to leave the ACC…are they?Bigdaddyg1 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2024 7:53 amThe ridiculous SEC is going to annually include what are otherwise pretty decent teams who will routinely go 6-6 or 7-5 and the stadiums will rain down boos. Certainly among G5 programs, Memphis, UNLV, NIU, and Toledo have the most impressive wins, and remain unbeaten.

Napier will be owed something like $26,000,000 if he’s let go this season.

Per reports, they’ve already secured the funds if they want to pull the trigger.
I actually thought Napier was a great hire at the time.

He did a great job at LaLa. Follows the Saban formula. Maybe there are other things in play. I have no idea.

Re: Week 3 Other Games discussion
I am wondering if the reason he won at LaLa was because he had a bloated staff that allowed them to out scout teams and now everyone can do what they are doing so he does not have that advantage? I am surprised it has gone this bad for him though. I thought he would have them as a top 20 team regularly for most part but just hasn't been able to get it together.

Re: Week 3 Other Games discussion
Not me! Married into a Gator family and all 4 of our kids have a degree from UF so I root for Florida in addition to App State. That being said, I would not wish any team (let alone one I like) the unfortunate burden of have a former Furman QB as a head coach. Nothing good can come of it.appstate24 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2024 2:36 pmPer reports, they’ve already secured the funds if they want to pull the trigger.

Re: Week 3 Other Games discussion
I thought so at first, despite all his multiple game time mishaps as a coach, until I learned the number of assistants on his staff. He simply outspent the Sun Belt (and App specifically) and won because they had more knowledge. When you are in the SEC, you can not outspend everyone, it just doesn't happen. You actually have to know how to coach and i have significant doubts about his ability to do that at the highest level.
