Interesting move. I'm sure some UK fans are pleased.

Honestly, probably a good move for both sides. Both needed a fresh start.

Probably not good for Kentucky, trouble usually follow Calipari’s exit school after he leaves.

Just when you think the coaching carousel is done! I saw this late last night, but thought it was a rib. Nate Oats and Scott Drew are probably 1 and 2 for this one, can't wait to see the ripple effects from this job opening.

Didn’t even think about this, but you are probably right.

That was back when it was possible to get in trouble with the NCAA.

Honestly, IMO the story of Cal's UK tenure is that he was way ahead of the curve in working with Nike to buy OAD recruits. Then Duke got in on the game (along with the top Adidas schools) and started getting most of the players Cal used to get. Then NIL hit, and everyone could buy players legally, so his competitive advantage was gone.

And then the other part is, he still had good teams, they were just on a really bad run in March the last few years. UK fans were understandably upset with that, but part of me thinks it was just a fluky stretch that would have evened out eventually. If you have good teams consistently, eventually you're probably going to suffer a couple bad tournament losses. Happened to K, Izzo, Self, Wright, etc.

Arkansas AD went to Providence Day in Charlotte, played hoops at Guilford. He's made all the stops to get to UA
