March Madness
Yale joins the I beat Auburn club. Clutch down the stretch. Rough 24 hours for the SEC.

Re: March Madness
I thought the SEC was supposed to be a power conference and had a lot of money. Doesn't that automatically translate to deep tournament runs?

100% That is why I am not big into this NIL stuff. I am not spending extra money I don't have on something that is not a guarantee. SEC draws the most money and has the most NIL contributions but the league has had a rough first round.RaleighApp27609 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 22, 2024 6:26 pmI thought the SEC was supposed to be a power conference and had a lot of money. Re: March Madness
Except for Edey I haven't heard any mention of a lottery pick in any game. Absolutely idiotic to pay big money to 18-22 year olds who are playing pressure games.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 22, 2024 6:46 pm100% That is why I am not big into this NIL stuff. Re: March Madness
Madison is finishing the season in better fashion than we did. I guess they get the last laugh.
I’m not sure JMU can keep up the pace. Not convinced they win this one.

Re: March Madness
They look better than Wisconsin. I think they could give Duke problems too. We beat them twice but we match up well against them. I do think they were probably the best Sun belt team we could have sent to the dance.
Would be cool to see them get to the sweet 16.

Re: March Madness
12 seed was ridiculous. Took a flyer on them to reach the Sweet 16 along with Grand Canyon. Might make a little $

Re: March Madness
I agree. Whether we all want to admit it or not, JMU has been the one of the best (if not the best) mid majors from start to finish. They are 31-3 for a reason. We matched up well and were able to take away their strength, but I don’t believe we would be beating Wisconsin this handily. They have controlled the entire game.
I know the word “deserving” gets over used in sports, but they are very deserving of the run I think they will go on. We will also get a nice chunk of change which won’t hurt.

Re: March Madness
They have finished the season playing with a lot of confidence and that's what it takes to win in the tournament playing a lower seeded team like Wisconsin. They took the game to the Badgers and have kept them off balance the entire game.ah59396 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 22, 2024 10:43 pmThey look better than Wisconsin. I think they could give Duke problems too. Capturing the regular season title was a tremendous accomplishment especially since we hadn't done it in 40+ years. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this squad this year. But, it does seem that our season started a downward trajectory after winning and celebrating that title.
