Re: March Madness
80s and 90s I was obsessed over ncsu..football and basketball...knew every player...coaches...etc...watched every single game I could ..loved the pack..but once I went to App St in 2002 I was all in on the Mountaineers ..but given there's no more mod majors to pull for I hope state goes all the way. Amazing run to the elite 8...haven't been there since 86...I do have a master's degree from ncsu but can never pull for them over the mountaineers or any mid majors

Re: March Madness
I’ll take the incoming comments. Grew up a UNC fan (all we watched in our family), but State deserves all of this. Absolutely incredible run since the ACC tournament. I keep thinking they are going to run out of gas, but they just keep going. They are fun to watch.

Re: March Madness
All transfers for NC State. Burns - Winthrop, Horne - Arizona State, McConnell - Stanford, Diarra - Missouri, Middlebrooks - Clemson, Morell - UVA, Taylor - Butler. Gives me hope for App basketball next year.

Hopefully State does well.
I am pulling for the Tigers only because their coach formerly coached at UNCW (my undergrad)
Will someone beat Dook already

Re: March Madness
Clemson is playing well right now. They have a great shot at beating Bama. To think 2 ACC schools could be in final 4 when you continuously hear how they aren’t the powerhouse conference anymore is awesome.BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Sat Mar 30, 2024 6:15 amClemson all the wayApp_in_Maiden wrote: ↑Fri Mar 29, 2024 9:47 pmI’ll take the incoming comments. Re: March Madness
NCSU hired Keats away from UNCW… Keats was last HC to take dub to the tourney. ‘16 & ‘17. He rebuilt their program after buzz ran it into the ground.BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Sat Mar 30, 2024 6:15 amClemson all the wayApp_in_Maiden wrote: ↑Fri Mar 29, 2024 9:47 pmI’ll take the incoming comments. Re: March Madness
If McConnell doesn’t hit that prayer banked buzzer beater 3 he was gone first round ACC tourney.

Re: March Madness
Yes. Not under keats, but UNCW should have two NCAA tournament wins. Snatched defeat from jaws of victory. Had a 15 point lead on George Washington with like 3 minutes and some change and lost. ..and then Juan Freakin Dixon did what Juan Dixon did at Maryland. Hits last second off balance 3 for the win.AppDawg wrote: ↑Sat Mar 30, 2024 7:49 amNCSU hired Keats away from UNCW… Keats was last HC to take dub to the tourney. ‘16 & ‘17. Re: March Madness
I never ever agree with any suggestion that the best college football team could ever beat the worst NFL team because even that bad NFL team has a roster of the top college players. That being said I'm not sure that this UConn team couldn't beat the Hornets or Pistons. They are loaded.

You should stick to the first sentence. They would lose by 40.Bigdaddyg1 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 31, 2024 6:35 amI never ever agree with any suggestion that the best college football team could ever beat the worst NFL team because even that bad NFL team has a roster of the top college players. Re: March Madness
UConn had lost to Creighton, Seton Hall and Kansas. All decent teams, but no better than who UConn has left to play.

Re: March Madness
Purdue and TN are better than anything Uconn has played this year. As much as I want an ACC team to win it to shove it in the faces of the SEC and Big who bragged about how good they were all season, I have my doubts that Duke or NCSU can beat either of the teams I mentioned.
In reference to the best college teams in any sport beating the worst record teams in pro sports....get out of here with that nonsense. Lamelo would drop 60, and his dad would sub in and drop another 20. Shoot, I'll go the other direction, I'd take a bunch of 50-year-old NBA starters and beat UConn. The difference between pro and college is huge in any sport.

Re: March Madness
Illinois had a bad game plan. They played right into the strength of UConn by trying to force everything down low. UConn played very well but you can’t have1-19 shooting to start a half and stay close to anybody. They couldn’t even make their open shots and waited too late to adjust. Coach said at half we are going to keep taking inside. See where that got you?

Re: March Madness
Wow. Duke is gonna feel that triple Burn all offseason. I can't wait to see how fast the refs foul out Burns to make sure Purdue wins. TN got hosed. Purdue had 30-something FTs to TN 11.
