I hate JMU and Cignetti, but I don’t see him leaving this season. Especially if they are denied in the courts for eligibility. Based on what I heard from him at gameday, he is from that area and valued the job
This take explains a lot.

Apparently Cignetti will not coach bowl game. JMU has named Damien Wroblewski acting head coach. I knew that would be short lived.

Their QB has entered the portal and their highest ranking recruit has uncommitted and reopened recruiting. JMU better have a plan or they will be best record to worst in one year.

This is typical in a coaching change. Not sure what the QB is thinking .. unless he believes he played well enough to get looks at P5 level. Maybe he will. New coach will come in and settle things down. For the long-term, jmu will continue to be good if the next coach is good. If he is not, they will not. I do not put much into some player turnover after coaching change. If 25 players enter portal...then you may have some portalling to do yourself to continue to be good

Indiana’s O line is in the Portal. He starts with a clean slate there.

I think I read that 20 IU players entered the portal and 4 commitments have moved on. He's been successful everywhere he's been but this might test his skills given the level of competition he will face.

He’s looking at a total rebuild. Fortunately for him expectations aren’t sky high. I do think he will be competitive given time.

Is the JMU QB looking to be at his 4th school? How is this even allowed?

Relaxed Covid transfer rules, now back to normal, and graduate transfer rules.

I hope he knocks it out of the park and they run the table in their conference. Hes a great guy and a heck of a coach. I really like him.

Everybody knows the IU job is going to be a total rebuild and the program has done nothing successful for decades. Cig can only take program upward and he will have more than enough time to do it. He will make it better and will look good no matter what. He knew this going in. It is basically no lose for him.

Off the top of my head I can't remember the coaches name who had the great year and went to Minnesota - still hasn't been able to reach the upper level - only going to get tougher -
Of course Cignetti has a head start - He is a West BY GOD Virginian

Hopefully Indiana won't hold that against him.

BTW, your Graham G-Men lost to Radford in the state semis.

Yep I saw that - but they were our rivals - I was a Bluefield Beaver - How about Phoebus - they play Salem on Saturday for the championship, would be their 3rd in a row - probably would have been 4 if it weren't for Treyvion Henderson

For a school like IU what does a total rebuild even mean? In that conference (especially with the west coast adds) they are looking at 6-6 at best. Good luck and enjoy the paychecks.

Hoping Phoebus beats Salem. All those years Salem was racking up state titles, Hopewell (the same size) was continuing to play at the state's highest level (AAA in those days, while Salem was AA). Salem had a huge advantage over most of the schools they played who were mostly rural. The reclassification into six divisions from three brought a bunch more competitive schools that Salem now has to contend with. While still good, they don't run roughshod over the opposition now. Of course, the reclassification has helped Hopewell as well. Smaller city schools (though that's not Phoebus) do have some obvious advantages over their more rural opponents.

Is this the same Salem school that was Andrew Glass?
