Re: Other Games 10/14
Surely the Jimmy Madison coach is getting looks from a P5 after this season. Hard to hate on them. Every game they start fast but seem to let up in the second half.

Re: Other Games 10/14
Still a lot of game yet, but jmu looks like a machine. They may curb stomp us. Their defense is legit.
GS is beatable, but we will have to outscore them. Their version of the air raid will put points on us.

GS will probably throw for 700 yards against Sloan’s secondary. Halfway through the season and they still don’t know who to cover. Even when they do cover, receivers still run right by them. We just don’t have equivalent talent or speed.

A good defense seems to be able to slow them down. Therein lies the problem.yosef69 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 14, 2023 12:07 pmWe said the same shit about coastal last weekBigdaddyg1 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 14, 2023 12:05 pmSouthern has like 50 yards passing. Y'all afraid of them?

Remember when we did stuff like jet sweeps, double passes, swarmed on defense? Good old days

I’ve watched our last two games, I’ve afraid of losing every game by 7 or less.Bigdaddyg1 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 14, 2023 12:05 pmSouthern has like 50 yards passing. Y'all afraid of them?

Re: Other Games 10/14
JMU’s line play is what sets them apart, on both sides of the ball, drastically from the rest of the conference. I think they returned every single offensive lineman, and they never fail to execute. Their front 7 on D cause more chaos than any SBC can possibly dream of. They’re P5 good, and real good P5 good, there.
They’re also well coach, execute everywhere on the field (watch their wide receivers block, and are prepared. Not to mention it’s obvious to read their “want to” and see the chip on their shoulder.

Re: Other Games 10/14
Cignetti recruits very well. He knows what he wants to accomplish and the players it will take on both sides of the ball.
Some of his players were recruited when they were still FCS, and even some of the transfers are from FCS schools. They hit the new and improved SBC, running.
He and/or his assistants will receive offers after this year. What that looks like for their program, also with a new incoming AD, who knows. But last year and this year are very impressive.

Just like everyone else JMU has their 30 transfers too. I hope UVa needs a coach.

Re: Other Games 10/14
JMU has requested a waiver for post season. Ridiculous rule. Hard to imagine if they run the table and get nothing.

Re: Other Games 10/14
Geez, simmer down. Every one of their 4 FBS wins have been by only one score. They're good, but not "real good P5" good. Real good P5 teams wouldn't beat a winless UVA by 1 point (see their Tennessee and Maryland games).GSUwasGump’sFallbackSchool wrote: ↑Sat Oct 14, 2023 1:16 pmJMU’s line play is what sets them apart, on both sides of the ball, drastically from the rest of the conference.
