The NCAA actually mishandled this particular situation in my opinion. The kid was wronged and now they've righted it.

I don't hate them for this. The NCAA mafia was wrong here.

What about all the others they have denied? - this kid wasn't the only one - and I do agree, the kid was screwed by the worthless NCAA but by all that is holy, they better grant waivers to the all the others -

I disagree and not because it was UNC. He was choosing between UNC and Rutgers to transfer to and he allegedly chose UNC to be closer to grandmother in Charlotte. 5 FBS schools closer to Charlotte

So? Maybe he is good enough to play at the current top ranked program in the state and didn't want to play for uncc, wake, or anyone else. Y'all are making some big assumptions about his personal life you know nothing about.

Why was Rutgers an option? That’s not very close. I feel comfortable with my big assumption. It’s got some big weight behind it.

What the NCAA did to this young man was just wrong. I for one can step back from my feelings about UNC and be happy for this young man.

I’m no UNC fan, but this guy got the shaft. One of his previous teams canceled their season. It shouldn’t have counted against him to transfer away. There was no actual common sense used in making the original decision.

I say that "common sense" and NCAA should never be used in the same sentence unless like above there is a NO in front -

Rules are rules, everybody feels they are the exception. I haven't lost my disdain for UNC and haven't been snowed by their journalism over the years.

The main reason for my position is that he actually enrolled at UNC in January and then the NCAA changed the rules a few days later and applied the new rules to his transfer. I personally think that's wrong, assuming that's what actually happened. I am very skeptical of what I get from journalists these days.

Just read the NCAA statement on this and, according to them, it was UNC that failed to provide all of the information for them to make the correct decision. UNC is of course refuting that but at least the kid will get to play now.

But he transferred to Kent State to play the 2021 season and NC Central played in 2021. The cancelled 2020 season was irrelevant, although UNC will try to make you think he transferred just so he could play.

Guess that's my thing here coach, I am not aware of others that they have denied. Not saying there aren't any just not aware of them. That said, i watch games and see a ton of players on their 3rd school and some on their 4th! Not to mention, all this occurred before the NCAA changed the rule. What laws are retroactive?
