He is definitely completely changing the culture there, good, bad or ugly. Guess we will see how it plays out.

Re: Colorado and transfer portal
The Colorado spring game was on a tv in a BBQ place I was eating on Saturday. I have to say, the stands were packed despite the snow. I am not sure if that many fans have ever showed up for a spring game. Prime clearly has the fan base excited and that usually leads to increased donations and capital campaigns. I am sure those 14 saw the light and realized that they we not going to play on that team and decided to find another home. It may take some time but I think Coach Prime will win at Colorado.

Colorado probably needs the enema based on their performances, hope we never fall that far.

Re: Colorado and transfer portal
They have had ONLY 1 winning season in the last 15 years (omitting bs Covid year). That was 7 years ago (2016). I think a total overhaul of their program was probably in order. I suspect they knew they had to tear it all down and rebuild from the ground up.Black Saturday wrote: ↑Mon Apr 24, 2023 3:11 pmColorado probably needs the enema based on their performances, hope we never fall that far.

Re: Colorado and transfer portal
TBF, Prime did say he was going to overhaul the roster and is likely being honest with players about their spots.
Only negative is that I doubt they'll have anywhere near 85 scholarship players this fall. Maybe he can get those extra Clemson players?

The leading running back and receiver were part of the crew that left yesterday.

Re: Colorado and transfer portal
This gets me thinking about something. Us old heads often talk about the Boone climate/weather as it relates to our sports. Obviously a factor with baseball. For some reason some people clamor for crappy weather for football games and some think it's an advantage for us. I don't really think a bunch of players we bring in from the southern states necessarily enjoy playing in rain, sleet and wind. That being said I wonder how many schools from mountain areas have had sustained success over the past, say 20 years? It's probably tough convincing stud players to come to some of these schools.

I think Georgia Southern 2019 definitively proved that crappy weather is not an advantage for us at all.bigdaddyg wrote: ↑Tue Apr 25, 2023 8:11 amThis gets me thinking about something. At least not high winds vs a running team.ArmantiWaterSafety wrote: ↑Tue Apr 25, 2023 8:42 amI think Georgia Southern 2019 definitively proved that crappy weather is not an advantage for us at all.bigdaddyg wrote: ↑Tue Apr 25, 2023 8:11 amThis gets me thinking about something. I would be using this in recruiting. (Especially for the Big O-Line and D-line type guys).bigdaddyg wrote: ↑Tue Apr 25, 2023 8:11 amThis gets me thinking about something. "Do you want to build your NFL body and skills in Charlotte, ECU, FLorida, Georgia high heat/high humidity or do you want to come to Boone,NC and build that body in Air Conditioned like atmosphere with low humidity and perfect temperatures?"
If I were a coach in Boone, it would be a mandatory recruiting spill when talking to a kid in the south that just finished their August two a day practices. I know I would be all ears. The more we land in the NFL the more we can prove you can make it in this great weather. Use it to your advantage. Would you rather work out in Boone, NC or Georgia Southern or ECU/Greenville in August?

Re: Colorado and transfer portal
Boone weather effects our team just as adversely as an opponent, maybe more if we rely on a passing game. SMH every time I see our fans embracing a bad weather game in Boone over the years. Like the GSU game, we've come up on the short end more than I cared for.

Boone Weather is a mindset, do not get too comfortable, because it will change. We still have altitude. Some people love the way Boone makes them feel and others hate the way Boone makes them feel.

I can't find the article after a quick Google, but I read somewhere that Colorado sold out their spring game AND charged like $5-10 admission. Last year, their spring game was free and only a few hundred people showed up.t4pizza wrote: ↑Mon Apr 24, 2023 2:46 pmThe Colorado spring game was on a tv in a BBQ place I was eating on Saturday. P5 players are overrated and don’t fit our culture. Ratings don’t matterappstate77 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 25, 2023 3:53 pmMy question: Is there anyone from Colorado we may can snatch from the portal.
Doubt we get any from 1-11 Colorado.
