He is connected to Moglia. I had seen where it was reported that the job would be open no more than 12 hours or so. It was no exaggeration. LOLLowcountry App wrote: ↑Sun Dec 04, 2022 3:33 pmWell that didn’t take long.

Liberty is NOT a national sports brand at all. I do agree that they have the money to buy any NIL and provide great facilities but if they were the national brand that you propose, why is it that only the lowest of G5 conferences in CUSA offered them an invite? The school's reputation is as toxic to more people than it is appealing to, of course that just means that a LOT of people either love or hate them. Liberty is not only still a G5 job, it is a lowly G5 job at that. They can wish and pray and spend as much as they want, but it hasn't changed yet. No G5 conference wanted them until CUSA got so gutted that they had no choice and surely no P5 conference will be interested in them. They don't play squat for out of conference in the next few years and the CUSA is too weak to get any consideration for the 12 team playoff since it will go to the highest rated G5 conference champ. Sun Belt will have many representative before Liberty ever makes it.DenverOfTheEast wrote: ↑Sun Dec 04, 2022 10:34 amChadwell will have LU in that 12 team playoff before a Sun Belt school gets in. Liberty is a NATIONAL brand, Coastal, App and Sun Belt schools are regional brands, truth be told the Sun Belt is now like the SoCon of the 1990's all over again.
That's reason #2 to take that job.
1- Money, 2- National Brand and 3- Facilities
(private jets, charter flights, airport 2 mins from stadium, no restrictions on academics for portal kids, etc etc)
It's a P5 job with G5 stress and pressure.
No kidding, CCU was ready.Lowcountry App wrote: ↑Sun Dec 04, 2022 3:33 pmWell that didn’t take long.

It is very impressive to see a school that identifies needs and plans for contingencies. My opinion is that all schools should always have a legit short list of potential replacements that are vetted prior to any job openings. Coastal just taught a class in how to replace a coach, meanwhile we are 16 days from early signing period with no DC in place.Mjohn1988 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 05, 2022 10:18 amNo kidding, CCU was ready.Lowcountry App wrote: ↑Sun Dec 04, 2022 3:33 pmWell that didn’t take long.

It helps when you allow a billionaire make the call.... But that also ultimately hurts the program.t4pizza wrote: ↑Mon Dec 05, 2022 10:55 amIt is very impressive to see a school that identifies needs and plans for contingencies. It sure looks like they had a plan in place. Before we say they taught a class, let’s see how the hire works out. But I agree, we needed a plan in place. Starting to look like maybe we didn’t have one.t4pizza wrote: ↑Mon Dec 05, 2022 10:55 amIt is very impressive to see a school that identifies needs and plans for contingencies. I’m fine with the new hires taking some time. My only real point is that CCU looked ready. Again, that's easy to do when you let a billionaire make the decisions for you. There wasn't a formal search, interview process, etc. It was Moglia saying we are hiring Beck and the AD saying ok, cool.Mjohn1988 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 05, 2022 11:28 amI’m fine with the new hires taking some time. Man, you have the scoop at CCU too. You must stay busy.AppStateNews wrote: ↑Mon Dec 05, 2022 12:02 pmAgain, that's easy to do when you let a billionaire make the decisions for you. Not sure. My guess is because Chadwell knows the sanctions are incoming so he wants out now. Money was only part of the thought process.Mjohn1988 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 05, 2022 12:13 pmI have a question, why didn’t the billionaire just pay Chadwell?AppStateNews wrote: ↑Mon Dec 05, 2022 12:02 pmAgain, that's easy to do when you let a billionaire make the decisions for you. If the “sanctions” are coming why would the billionaire get his friend involved? If his friend is the next head coach he will be the one paying the price.AppStateNews wrote: ↑Mon Dec 05, 2022 12:15 pmNot sure.
