Can you get ranked by beating Sam Houston, FIU, and Kennesaw State? They will have to have a stellar out of conference slate to be considered.
I mean, Coastal got ranked the last two years by beating powerhouses like Kansas, The Citadel, and UMass, so yeah.
And of the three you mentioned, Kennesaw State is probably the best.

Chad well is in a good position there. He has all the resources to dominate a weak CUSA and wil get paid while doing it. A much easier bar to succeed than jumping to a SEC or ACC school.

Chadwell will have LU in that 12 team playoff before a Sun Belt school gets in. Liberty is a NATIONAL brand, Coastal, App and Sun Belt schools are regional brands, truth be told the Sun Belt is now like the SoCon of the 1990's all over again.
That's reason #2 to take that job.
1- Money, 2- National Brand and 3- Facilities
(private jets, charter flights, airport 2 mins from stadium, no restrictions on academics for portal kids, etc etc)
It's a P5 job with G5 stress and pressure.

Go ahead a pull a Napier and raid that roster on your way out
Wouldn’t be surprised if Chadwell made General Sherman blush as he marches out of SC.

National brand? Hmm guess we have different definitions of national and brand.

Liberty isn’t a nation brand, but they are a national joke.

Perhaps I should google it but I'd rather get some definitions here. What exactly does Brand mean? And I really am curious as how it pertains to Liberty. Does anyone outside of that school care one iota about them? I believe that App has a following from folks who didn't attend the school. Obviously the bigger schools have a "brand" and a larger following but Liberty? Do they allow NIL there?

As far as App and the Sun Belt go, you need to walk those comments back. I respectfully submit that you are wrong!

I'd put money on Coastal having NCAA sanctions incoming...
When some programs get really good seemingly overnight you tend to go hmmm. I recall years ago when Ole Miss suddenly catapulted into top 5 country. They went from just ok to really good and had 3 or 4 of the absolute top recruits. Needless to say they had some issues down the road. Baylor was the same way. I've always felt that certain schools should not have real problems recruiting if their school offers nice fringe benefits such as location (Myrtle Beach). University of Florida in Gainesville with nice weather should always be a plus. Then again UNLV has never been a football school so who knows?
It's not even that. He's brought sanctions to every school he's been the head coach. The last time he left a school, he went from HC at Charleston Southern to the OC at Coastal for less money -- when Coastal and CSU were in the same conference (albeit, Coastal was already moving up). Not two years later Charleston Southern has sanctions for Chadwell playing players that weren't even enrolled in the school.
This is his MO. Leave before he gets caught so he doesn't have to deal with it.
Have there even been any accusations by credible outlets of Chadwell improprieties at Coastal?
Nothing public, but definitely within coaching circles.
Again, he's had three stops as a head coach in NCAA. All three have been put on sanctions after he leaves. It's just what he does. He doesn't care about anybody but himself.
100% for sure but I don't think this move means sanctions are coming this time for one reason and one reason only- money. He has wanted out of their as well but more than tripling his salary is enough reason for this change.
If CCU fans are upset then they just aren't looking at the fact this is all about money. If Shawn were winning big here I don't think he would leave for Liberty like Chadwell just did but if an SEC team offered him 4 or 4.5 million a year he would leave us for them as well. Loyalty will get you so far but once the checks rise above 2.5M you just won't see many coaches turn that down.

Nice satire on the brand part.
Spot on with the $$$ and academics.you know God wants poor Christians to take out student loans from the government so Liberty can transfer the funds to athletics and give those poor Christians a worthless degree

All the bias one way or the other aside, maybe the thought from some that Liberty is a national brand is because they have over 110,000 students online and on campus. These are made up of students nationally and world wide. Not sure that constitutes a national brand, but there sure are a lot of people getting their degrees from there. Not going to spend too much time worrying about Chadwell, Liberty or any other Sunbelt team. Going to just focus on supporting App as we look to get back to our winning ways.
