Be thankful your other team is not the other Mountaineers
For 60+ years those of us WVU fans have suffered unbelievable losses in unbelievable ways - In fact, we all know it is coming - just a matter of time ---
Neal Brown should be fired tonight (and you guys know me and I never say stuff like this)
WV scored 14 straight points to take a 7 point lead - they were moving again and had the ball on the Pitt 45 (around that) with about 6 min left- he has a 245 pound RB that they haven't stopped all night - 4th and a FOOT and he punts - I knew right then they would lose - Pitt scores 14 in the next 4 mins = WV gets the ball back drives down the field - the QB gets sacked with about 45 seconds left and he DOES NOT call a TO (had 2) - around 15 seconds runs off and he gets sacked again
I had such high hopes for Brown and he just plain sucks - can't handle the big time --- They finally have a P5 QB in JT Daniels - please bring in a coach that knows what the F he is doing ---
This is why I LOVE the APP STATE MOUNTAINEERS - They know how to WIN

“Other team?” I’m not familiar with the concept.

I saw part of the game. Tough luck by the wvu wide receiver that had an awesome game but tipped a catchable pass to the corner who returned it for the game winning td.
I agree on the punt.

Yes, that Pick 6 was final straw but if Brown hadn't made a chickenshit call on the punt, it wouldn't have come to that -
When you are coaching in the biggest game for these Mountaineers in years and you have to start winning or you will be coaching in the FCS in the near future You have to have the balls to show your team you have faith in them gaining ONE FOOT.

Thought about you last night watching that game, Coach. Man that was a bad beat. Seemingly had the game in hand.

Watched it off and on and could not believe they didn't go for that 4th down. Did the usual "try to get them offsides" then the delay (I think) only to punt. I agree with you. Huge game and rivalry. It's not a conference game and neither team likely to be in the final 4 (but you never know). On the road in a hostile environment against a team you really aren't stopping consistently you gotta go for that especially with a big back. Show some balls. If they don't make it is the coach getting crucified for not punting? Doubt it.WVAPPeer wrote: ↑Fri Sep 02, 2022 7:11 amYes, that Pick 6 was final straw but if Brown hadn't made a chickenshit call on the punt, it wouldn't have come to that -

Believe me, the fans would have praised him for showing some balls and faith in his offense

This is why he will never be a winner at the top of the P5
"PITTSBURGH — Fifteen minutes or so after suffering one of his more gut-wrenching losses at West Virginia, head coach Neal Brown came to the podium inside the visitors’ media center at Acrisure Stadium to discuss what had transpired.
On a night where there were plenty of positives, from the precision of JT Daniels’ downfield passes and his ability to read the Panthers’ defense, to the unforgettable debut of true freshman CJ Donaldson that enabled the Mountaineers to outrush the nation’s 17th-ranked team, one decision stood out above the rest.
With West Virginia leading 31-24 and facing fourth-and a foot just across midfield beyond the halfway point of the fourth quarter, Brown opted for the Mountaineers to take a delay of game and punt, giving the ball back to Pitt, which had to drive the length of the field to tie the Backyard Brawl.
The Panthers did just that, needing only seven plays to cover 92 yards and never facing a third down. The only potential for one was erased on a targeting penalty by cornerback Wesley McCormick.
Brown admitted his team ran the ball well, which was evidenced by Donaldson’s game-high 125 yards, while Tony Mathis added 71. Yet he stuck by his decision and went as far as to say he would punt again in the same situation.

Mr. never attack a coach wants to fire a coach in the original post. Captain hypocrisy.
94 glad you pushed this back up the top to show his colors and yours.

I don’t attack coaches or want them fired. I always assume that the coaches know more about the situation than I do. You…. Not so much.

WV clearly attacked his first team's coach, WV, that was my point.
Show me a post where I claimed I know more than our coaches, I'll wait.

But you question everything that went wrong as if you do know. So there is that.
