It doesn't appear that expansion is on the agenda.

Looking at the new revenue distribution formula, something CUSA didn't know about until after making some selections, I can see why. Had it been revealed before CUSA picked new members the conference would probably look very different.

Revenue is broken down as follows: 1st - $6.6 mil, 2nd - $5.4 mil, 3rd - $4.4 mil, 4th - $3.4 mil, 5th $2.4 mil

Amt per team with 16 teams: 1st - $400,000, 2nd - $337,500, 3rd - $275,000, 4th - $212,500, 5th - $150,000
Amt per team with 14 teams: 1st - $457,000, 2nd - $385,700, 3rd - $314,285, 4th - $242,857, 5th - $171,400
Amt per team with 12 teams: 1st - $533,300, 2nd - $450,000, 3rd - $366,600, 4th - $283,300, 5th - $200,000

This year CUSA will do fine BUT after ECU, Houston, Memphis, SMU, Tulane, Tulsa, and UCF are replaced with FAU, FIU, La Tech, Middle Tennessee, N Texas, ODU, UNCC, UTSA and WKU the conference could very well find find itself in the basement. Makes it more curious why WKU bolted knowing this. The approach of adding the largest TV markets available instead of quality programs could backfire on CUSA.
