I don't think WCU impacts us in that Greenville-Asheville market nearly as much as Clemson does.
As someone who has lived in the Asheville-Hendersonville area for over two decades, I can attest to this. Clemson dominates the area, along with all of the Florida, FSU, and Miami alum tourists, second homeowners, and halfbacks.

I was making a joke about the state of WCU. I am not sure if WCU impacts Sylva, let alone the entire media market in the extreme WNC area.
My bad. If I had paid attention to who posted it, I'm sure I would have picked up on the sarcasm. That's what I get for posting and multi-tasking at work.
I have not really taken a dig at Western in some time and don't do it often but with UNC-A not having football I guess WCU is the big name that is home to that market that is in NC. Obviously Clemson in blowing everyone away in the market, which unlike Charlotte or even the Triangle or Triad seems to be a media market of convenience more so than a single market. I can see people driving back and forth between W-S and Greensboro or Raleigh and Durham for some things and seeing how advertisers might want to attract people from the other city but Spartanburg to Asheville is getting to be far enough away that I doubt it is happening that much. If Asheville stood alone in that market it would be interesting to see the numbers.
This is my very generic signature added to each post.
