We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Dang 39.5 point spread in a conference game.
Mizzou is bad for sure. Guess it's a good thing he got that payday. Probably would be a good target for Nick Saban's rehabilitation program if his ego will let him participate.

Re: Drinkwitz is a 40 point underdog Saturday
I do not believe you can judge Drink yet. First year as coach was COVID year and impacted him establishing his style of play and recruiting in a new program. Unlike App which Clark became a head coach, Clark was here and stepped into a perennial powerhouse. Missouri is bad and was bad prior to Drink. IMO, that project is worse than what Satt stepped into a the Ville. I am neither a supporter or detractor of Drink. I had never heard of him prior to his opening PR at App. St. Time will tell if he can make Missouri a decent program. Yes, Missouri is a payday as it is going to be difficult to win consistently with given Gawgia, Gators on that side of division and however they compile new SEC once Texas and Oklahoma join.
All I do know is he took App. St. to a 13-1 season with younger team and we went 9-3 the following year with many if same players from 2020 and an easier schedule in 2020 IMO. No knock on current coaching staff as I am a huge supporter of Clark. The records are what they are. We knew risk of Drink leaving since he did not grow up with program.
And Gawgia is freaking good. By end of year if the keep this up on defense, may be considered the college football if '85/86 Bears... whatever year Buddy Ryan had the great defense

Re: Drinkwitz is a 40 point underdog Saturday
I really don’t understand why some on this board are obsessed with mocking or making light of the situation he is in. We all would have done the same thing when the SEC came calling. Who cares. He was here during one of the best years we ever had and is gone. Move on.
As far as being a 40 pt underdog, it’s no surprise. As mentioned above, Georgia is damn good this year. I can’t wait for the matchup against Bama in the SEC championship(if it happens).

I am grateful for Drinkwitz season coaching the team. I don't and didn't wish for him to fail at Mizzou. I did come to think that he was cocky and full of himself but in the season here he backed it up. I posted because I don't think that I have ever seen such a spread in the SEC even with a Vanderbilt-Alabama game but it is likely that it has occurred before.

I hope Wake wins out. The only bad thing about them winning out would be for Cincinnati. If Wake and Cincinnati are both undefeated, then Wake gets the 4th playoff berth and Cincinnati is left to a New Years day game.

Top 10 teams don’t give up 56 to army and the triple option.HighlandsApp wrote: ↑Sat Nov 06, 2021 9:46 amhttps://journalnow.com/sports/college/w ... 274a2.html

Re: Drinkwitz is a 40 point underdog Saturday
Any of us with an ounce of reality knew he was not staying in Boone. If I’m not mistaken the buyout Missouri paid really helped us pay some salaries. I recall one Mountaineer Talk with him he was asked where he liked to eat in the area. His answer was so vague and really told a lot. He and his family really didn’t dig it. He and his agent fully knew that he could come to Boone, take a loaded team and do what he did. They had to see potentially mediocre UNC and USC teams on the schedule and figure out the deal. It worked for him, we are fine and he got paid. It’s the nature of the beast. For what it’s worth anyone upset needs to read the article on ESPN discussing the amount of dead money paid by FBS schools. Incredible

Liberty coach interviewed on ESPN about being back in Oxford. Stated there was a long line waiting for him. I believe the long lines were the escort services he may be past due in payment.

He has shown nothing as a head coach. He may lose by more than that. He was not handed a great team/program on a silver platter this time.

Fair enough. It wasn’t really a slight at you just in general. I agree he was cocky and full himself, but like you mentioned, he did back it up here. He was given keys to a Porsche though with the team he inherited here.HighlandsApp wrote: ↑Sat Nov 06, 2021 9:40 amI am grateful for Drinkwitz season coaching the team. He’s a good OC, and will be one of the wealthiest OCs in about three years. Good luck to him and his family.

Re: Drinkwitz is a 40 point underdog Saturday
He's smart but is letting his ego get in his way. Interesting that he has Sparky Woods' son, Steve Wilks and DJ Smith on staff as well as Link, Harbison and Lutz that he hired for his 2019 AppState career.
He only has 4 coaches coaching offense. That would seem like a problem for a SEC coach.
